"Got an onsite estimate. Limited detail. Flat cost of $2000 per helical pier material and placement , and generic $600 engineering fee. Total of $4600 with tax after deduction of $500 for Angie's list promotion. Would have liked ho see s more detailed breakdown of actual costs. But estimated cost for work was prohibitively high. So still looking for another solution. Basically paid $99 to get the estimate."

"We hired Block by Nick to install a retaining wall and fire pit in our back yard. We were impressed by Nicks knowledge and work ethic, wowed by how great the finished wall looked. Whether you’re installing brick siding over a traditionally-framed home or you’re using genuine brick construction to build, the biggest downside of a brick house is the higher cost you’ll pay for the materials and labor. Real brick construction also means your home build will take longer, as it’s more time-consuming to construct brick walls than it is to frame out your home.

Cutting stone comes with a number of safety hazards. First and foremost, if you’re not comfortable with the equipment required to cut stone, including blades and grinders, you could easily injure yourself. However, the biggest risk from cutting stone comes from the stone dust. When breathed in, stone dust can be a huge hazard to your lungs. Always wear a face mask when cutting stone to prevent inhaling stone dust, and thoroughly clean the work area when you are finished.

Do not use super glue to hang lights on brick unless you want your lights up year-round. Hot glue is a better choice because it’s easily removable with a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Super glue is very hard to remove, and you could tear off parts of the brick in the removal process.
