Recent Septic Tank Service Reviews in Ashland

We had a tight timeline once DEQ determined we needed a new septic system. When I called, Les was knowledgeable, familiar with our area (soil content), we discussed DEQ specifications and scheduled an appointment. Les was on time, professional, patient and informative when answering our questions and explaining what/how he would install the septic to DEQ specifications, coordinate work with our existing contractor and within our timeline. If you want a professional who will follow-up, respect you, your time and project, Les at Mr. Ed's Advanced Septic is the guy to call. Ultimately, our three bids were within $500.00 of each other and we decided to use our contractor's septic contractor for continuity of our overall project

Excellent, Chris is a real professional, he gave expert advice on maintenance, he did a thorough cleaning and inspection, if I could give him 6 stars, I would do it. I recommend with complete confidence this company to do the work. Even his equipment was exceptionally clean, he was friendly and professional. 6 stars all the way. The name is now DooDoo Bu

Another great job by the guys at Jim's Septic Service. Very pleasant, hard working folks that sure do make things easy for the homeowner!

Everyone in this company, from Debbie in the office, to Josh at the site of service is first class. Josh detected a hole in the baffle coming from the house to the tank. The entire process of pump out and inspection was done without incident and without any mess. Josh is easy to talk to and informative. This company meets with my approval at a level of A+. Their cost is higher than others but for me this is negligible. Josh said they would also send out a reminder when the septic tank was due for a routine pump out in another 6-7 years

Les gave us good advice over the phone. He returned our calls promptly and we plan on using him if we purchase the property. we were so confident in his advice we referd him to our Mother.

After trying unsuccessfully to get an appointment with the company I have used in the past for pumping my septic tank (Roto Rooter), I called DrainPros Plumbing. They were able to schedule me the next morning. They were on time and did the job professionally.

They came ..told me the me in between jobs and came back later that day with the parts and fixed it. I was very glad that it was taken care of the day I called them.

On April 20th we had a plugged septic. As this was a Saturday we started with a company that we had used several years ago but there was no answer. The next call was placed to Jim's Septic Service. I spoke with Debbie, explained our situation and she said she would check about having people here tomorrow. She called back and confirmed that they would be here Sunday the 21st around noon. They were here before noon, found the blockage and pumped the septic. They did a super job and we look forward to using them again in the near future as we want a clean out put in. Happy to recommend them

They gave me good service. It was easy to make an appointment. They explained what they needed to do. I don't know if their pricing is good or not. It seemed high but they also installed a high end pump. They went out of their way to explain what they were doing and why we needed to do this fix. I was certainly satisfied with their service

Septic Tank Service FAQ

  1. What are the signs your septic tank is full?

Answer: There are several signs that indicate your septic tank could be full. These include standing water over your septic tank, a strong odor coming from your yard, gurgling water, slow drains, or a sewage backup. While many of these signs could also be indicative of a clogged system, they should all be checked out by a professional ASAP to avoid costly damages. In the absence of any of these signs, it’s recommended that septic tanks be emptied every 3 to 5 years on average.

  2. How often should a septic tank be serviced?

Answer: On average, septic tanks should be serviced every 3 to 5 years in the absence of any worrying signs that the tank is clogged or full. The size of your septic tank, the number of people living in your home, and your average water usage will all impact how often your septic tank needs to be serviced.

  3. What are the most common causes of septic tank failure?

Answer: The most common cause of septic tank failure is improper maintenance. Failing to pump a septic tank on the appropriate schedule will cause septic tank failure and likely result in a costly septic tank repair or replacement. On average, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, but the size of your tank, the number of people in your home, and your average water usage may shorten or extend this timeframe.

  4. How much does it cost to pump a septic tank?

Answer: The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average or about $0.30 per gallon. The size of your septic tank, as well as local labor costs, will impact the cost of pumping your septic tank. Most septic tanks are between 600 and 2,000 gallons in size, meaning the average cost range is between $180 to $600.

  5. How much does it cost to install a septic system?

Answer: The cost to install a septic tank system is between $3,060 and $9,810, on average. The size of the septic tank you choose, the land you’re installing it on, the type of system you choose, and local labor costs will all influence the total cost of installing a septic system. Anaerobic septic tanks (those that don’t need oxygen) typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000. Aerobic systems, which utilize oxygen to activate bacteria and are popular on smaller properties, usually cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

  6. How long does a septic system last?

Answer: When septic systems are well maintained, they can last up to 30 years or more. If a septic system isn’t properly maintained, such as when it isn’t pumped regularly, it may malfunction and require costly repairs or a premature replacement. In general, septic tank pumping is recommended every 3 to 5 years to ensure the septic system lasts as long as possible.
