"Mike found the matching alder from one of his suppliers which was a bit of a task due to the rarity of the product. He took out the carpeting in the great room and hallway and installed the new product to replace it. He refinished the other parts of the house with the original hardwood and finished the new rooms to match. He added a nice walnut wood striping around the transition areas which really set off the attractiveness of the floors. He then installed baseboards in the hallway to finish off the projects. It took about two weeks to complete but was done to near perfection and we love it. We are now dragging our feet to refurnish over the great room area as we so much enjoy looking at the new hardwood flooring. Mike did a great job with superior attention to detail. Recommend him highly."

"He removed the damaged carpet area and replaced it, from a closet floor carpet match. He then installed a piece of simular colored berber back in the closet floor. Looks great."

Water-based polyurethane sealants emit fewer odors and fumes but dry quickly, which can pose a challenge when trying to get a smooth coat. Whether you install flooring before or after kitchen cabinets depends primarily on the type of flooring you are using. For materials like hardwood, tile, and sheet flooring, the best practice is to install the flooring first. This ensures the cabinets are installed at the correct height and on a stable surface. However, you should not install cabinets on top of floating floors, such as laminate or luxury vinyl plank (LVP). These types of flooring need room to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes. Placing heavy cabinets on top can restrict this movement, potentially causing the floor to buckle and making the cabinets unstable. For floating floors, install the cabinets first and then lay the flooring up to them. Other reasons to consider installing cabinets before the flooring include saving money on materials (since you won't need flooring under the cabinets) and avoiding potential damage to your new floor during cabinet installation. Additionally, installing cabinets directly on the subfloor might prevent voiding your flooring's warranty.

Carpet density refers to how closely together the fibers of a carpet are stitched into the carpet backing, with values ranging from 1,000 to 7,000. A carpet density value of 3,000 or higher is considered best for most homes, especially in high-traffic areas, such as a living room or dining room. If you’re comparing two carpets made of the same material, a higher carpet density can indicate better durability and longevity.
