"Mark was great! Very reasonably priced and we couldn t be happier with our floors. He did all the work himself and was prompt, kind, knowledgeable, and clean (he always cleaned up at the end of the day). Our project took about 4 1/2 days and with the exception of one late start day (which we knew about) Mark was at our home early each day and worked hard and non stop ALL day! Our floors are beautiful and we are grateful to have found Mark!"

"I am very pleased with AVA Construction. From the bidding process to the installation of the solid hardwood floor, Aleksey was very professional and a real craftsman. After the floor was installed he made sure the work area was clean and returned to normal. I would definitely use this company again."

"I am so lucky that they did my floor. Kitchen and dining room. The flooring is so beautiful and tough, it really is beauty meets beast as the boxes had written on it. The dogs claws haven't made one scratch. I couldn't have found anything better than the Shaw floors they used. They were so fast and so detailed at installing, it was amazing to see. I was shocked at how few little scraps were left, the way they cut the pieces to fit the corners perfectly and fit all the pieces together, and so fast! I couldn't be happier, you can tell that they are so experienced and professional, the floor is perfectly put together, I just can't get over how amazing and beautiful it is. Pictures don't do it justice but I tried to take a couple that shows it's beauty. I know they stay busy so if you schedule them to do a floor you need, you will be as lucky and happy as I am❣️"

"Adam was great, he showed up right on time and had the repair done within 30 minutes. I had an extra piece of carpet, so he was able to use that to patch a small area at the door to our master bedroom. I will definitely use them again when needed."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Most projects take 1-3 days, depending on space size and complexity.

A stair runner is a length of carpet installed in the center of the staircase, either on top of or in between hard materials installed on the staircase. The carpet doesn’t cover the entire length of the steps, making stair runners an aesthetic choice. Thankfully, if you want hard materials on your stairs to show through, a stair runner will make it safer, as the primary area you walk on will be less slippery thanks to the carpet.

Resurfacing a garage floor takes about eight hours on average, with another couple hours over three days to do the epoxy. Epoxy goes on in three coats, with each coat taking 24 hours to dry and cure. You’ll need to keep foot and vehicle traffic off of your garage floor for around 4 days in total when replacing your garage floor, so be sure to plan ahead before you start. This is a great time to organize your garage since you’ll need to move everything out to apply the epoxy.

Ultimately, it’s a matter of personal preference. However, as a rule of thumb, lighter-colored carpets and walls will open up a room and often make it feel larger than it really is. On the other hand, darker shades tend to shrink a space, making it feel cozier. By mixing and matching light and dark colors, you can add dimension to the room.

The rule of three for flooring means that you should have a maximum of three flooring types throughout your home, such as hardwood in your bedroom and living room and tile in your kitchen and bathroom. The rule brings cohesion to your home and creates a seamless look. By using the same material, you also save money on future repairs.
