"I am very pleased with AVA Construction. From the bidding process to the installation of the solid hardwood floor, Aleksey was very professional and a real craftsman. After the floor was installed he made sure the work area was clean and returned to normal. I would definitely use this company again."

"Kody was fantastic from start to finish. We've never had new floors put in and he patiently walked us through and thoroughly explained every step. He got us a great deal on beautiful floors that will work best for our busy, messy house. He even went above and beyond offering advice and resources for an issue we were having on other remodeling. Aleksandr installed our new floors. Despite a language barrier he was friendly and very courteous. We felt very comfortable with him in our house. His craftsmanship and professionalism were exemplary. We left carpet in our bedrooms and we have no doubt we will hire Trinity and hope for Kody and Aleksandr to be the men to complete our remodeling."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

The life span of carpet in a home with children and animals depends on factors like the carpet material’s quality, how frequently you clean and maintain it, and the level of foot traffic. On average, carpets need to be replaced every five to 15 years. Signs of wear, matting, or persistent odors may indicate that it's time to contact a local flooring company to replace your carpet.

Yes, professional services include leveling and moisture testing before installation.

Steam mops can be a better option than traditional mops because the steam can lift stubborn dirt from floors without using chemicals, and it also kills bacteria and dust mites. However, steam mops have drawbacks: they are more expensive, require an electrical outlet, and are not suitable for all flooring types, such as laminate or hardwood, which can be damaged by the steam.

Regular mopping can also sanitize floors effectively when done with the right cleaning products and techniques, though it may require more effort. The main advantage of a traditional mop is its versatility, as it can be used on any type of flooring. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your floor type, budget, and cleaning preferences.

Squeaking floors don’t usually pose an immediate safety risk. It can be the result of normal settlement, changes in humidity, or natural wear. Uneven or warped floors do pose a trip risk, so you should call a pro for a repair. This is especially true if you notice visible signs of rot or deterioration. Rarely, a creaking floor can signal structural issues, but there are usually other signs.

Not all attic floors are created equal—size, layout, and square footage often vary. The amount of weight an attic floor can hold depends on several factors including the joist size and position, any structural supports or subfloors, and the original intent of the attic design. Without structural reinforcement, your floor might only be able to support about 10 pounds per square foot of floor load before collapsing.
