"Justin was great to work with and responsive to all of our questions. He helped us select the right flooring for our home and lifestyle. His work is superb and four years later the floors still look amazing. We could not be more pleased."

"We just had a wood floor installed in our dining room and the rest of the wood floors refinished, they look beautiful! Willamette Hardwood Floors was a wonderful company to work with. Terry and Joe showed up on time and finished the job a day early. The floors look even better than I had hoped! I would definitely hire Bill and his team again."

"Mack and his crew were great to work with. They were quick to get an estimate to us, to get the product in and to go to work. Our project consisted of installation of about 1600 square feet of LVP. There was considerable demolition to be done including removal of some ceramic tile and some underlayment to sheet vinyl to be removed. Mack sent 5 guys to do the demolition work was done in a day. We are going to have them install the same flooring in the remaining part of the house."

"Done a great job on 1st project on the installation of bathroom floors. Re hired to do kitchen and utility room. Really good pricing for installation charge. Very professional, great communication during both projects and all areas after completion was left very clean including where flooring was cut outside. Easy to work with for scheduling needs and times. Will definitely use again for flooring projects and recommend to others if they have flooring installation projects."

"Fast, efficient, clean and exceptional work. Pablo did a great job at a very fair price. I found a couple of little things that needed attention and he solved them immediately. Highly recommend."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

A stair runner is a length of carpet installed in the center of the staircase, either on top of or in between hard materials installed on the staircase. The carpet doesn’t cover the entire length of the steps, making stair runners an aesthetic choice. Thankfully, if you want hard materials on your stairs to show through, a stair runner will make it safer, as the primary area you walk on will be less slippery thanks to the carpet.

To clean a subfloor after removing carpet, start by removing any leftover debris, such as stuck-on underlay, nails, or staples. Next, thoroughly vacuum the subfloor to eliminate dust, dirt, and loose particles. If adhesive residue remains, you can use an adhesive remover, a scraper, or a sander to gently lift it off. Finally, clean the surface by mopping or wiping it down with a damp rag and allow it to dry completely. This preparation is essential for ensuring new flooring adheres properly and to prevent bumps or wrinkles from forming.

A laminate floor will lift if it hasn’t been installed with the proper expansion gaps around the room’s perimeter. Laminate flooring naturally expands and contracts when indoor temperatures fluctuate, and without adequate room for expansion, the planks can lift off the subfloor. To avoid this, ensure your flooring installer knows to leave the proper expansion gaps.

Carpet padding costs an average of $510 to purchase and install in a 225-square-foot room. The price can range from as low as $170 to as much as $850, depending on the brand, the thickness, and the labor cost. Although carpet padding will increase the overall cost of carpet installation, it also helps the carpet hold up longer, reduces noise in the room, and provides more insulation.

Yes, you can put rugs and carpet on heated floors. However, carpet is not the most efficient for heated floors. The carpet pad and pile can prevent the heat from penetrating into the room. Rugs may also prevent heat from reaching your feet. You will get the most from your heated floors if you use thin rugs so that a maximum amount of heat can penetrate the room. You may find you do not need rugs to warm a space, thanks to the radiant heat coming up through your feet.
