"I hired Josh to do a full resurface on my bi-level deck, including water protection for the joists. It was quite an expensive job, he was not the low bidder by about 20 K. But his expertise convinced me that he was worth the extra money. I went with the deluxe material to protect my deck. And it was tongue and grooved. I also hired him to install a chain-link fence around part of my property. I would definitely hire him again for any other project he could handle."

"We hired Woodmasters to rebuild our deck and I want to emphasize that they did an exceptional job at an extremely reasonable price. Andrey and his team even went the extra mile to adjust some things I requested after the project had already started. Our deck project was a perfect example of a backyard transformation, and I won't even consider getting quotes from other companies in the future."

We are a small company that was created in 2016. We take a lot of pride in our work and love to be challenged. We specialize in stone masonry and carpentry but have a wide range of experience in outdoor living. We are a small company that is capable of producing large projects, done right, in a timely manner. The relationships we have made with our clients and the things that we have helped bring to life are what keeps us moving every day.Don’t let our name fool you, although we prefer to work with Natural materials we also install trex-timber tech decking and a variety of other products.

At Superior Choice Construction we value our customers! We believe that customer care is of the highest importance, along with quality work and materials. We are a small, family run business and enjoy working with our clients to create something that we can all be proud of!

"The only thing that went mostly on plan was the removal of two slider closets, replacing them with a larger walk-in closet. Other than needing to have the wall texture fixed, it didn't match the existing texture, the new closet is square and solid. I only asked for the rough-in as I was going to do the finish work. The mess created was substantial and no effort was made to clean up the drywall dust and texture stuck to the floor. But replacement of a vinyl shower with a pebble tile for a curbless shower pan, floor to ceiling shower wall tile, and new tile flooring took over 6 six weeks to complete. During the tiling process, leftover grout and thinset was dumped onto my driveway and side yard, leaving a huge ugly mess behind. Another interesting feature we requested was a pebble tile lined niche in the shower for shower storage. The initial "done" report left a lot to be desired (see picture). This needed a couple of rounds of rework before getting something acceptable. The pebbles should have been mounted flatter though as it's difficult to get shampoo/soap bottles to stand solidly on the niche. I'm going to need to see about having a glass shelf installed over the top of the pebbles to get a flatter surface. It's acceptable, but not great by any means. When complete the shower pan did not drain properly resulting in water flooding out of the shower door. During active showering, water pools up to 1/2" deep before running out of the door. Also, puddles of water still remain on the floor even after 12 hours. The visual inconsistency of the grout on the pebble floor was troubling, and ugly with a big too-thick area right in front of the shower entry. You can see this in floor to shower pan junction. My guess is that it was done this way to encourage water flow. Also, the pebbles themselves weren't installed smoothly so it's uncomfortable to walk on in the shower. Lastly, the shower faucet valve installed is improperly adjusted and there is no cold water dispensed even when the adjuster is moved all the way to cold. This further proves that no flow testing was done prior to calling this done. This wasn't discovered until after the new shower doors were installed by a glass shop two weeks later. The only piece of the tiling job almost without complaint is that the bathroom floor tiles look great. If it weren't for the crookedly cut one that butts up to the vanity, I'd have nothing to whine about with it. It can be covered with some molding, but it shouldn't need to be. I brought them back in to assess the shower failure and was assured that they'd make it right. When I mentioned completely re-doing the shower pan again, they poo-pooed that as unneeded. My internal alarm started going off even harder. After three weeks of hearing nothing, I hired another contractor to start replacing the new shower floor. We discovered that the new shower drain hadn't been glued to the piping. Also, a dedicated shower pan had not been installed, instead it was a hacked together collection of a waterproof membrane, thinset and a painted on (red) waterproofing film. Attention to detail is inconsistent and I had to constantly follow-up with suggestions on improvement for obvious flaws in workmanship (bad wall texture, grout voids, and depth inconsistencies, tiles mounted or cut crookedly). The OCCB is going to be contacted to help me recover costs of the re-repair."

"Always excellent. We have used Timber Deck and fencing for several projects over the last several years. Todd the owner is very skilled at what he and his company provides. Over the last 8 years we have had our cedar fence replaced, an IPE deck installed, new side fence and fence gate installed and new vertical skirting installed around our deck. We don't call anyone else. Besides the wonderful project outcome, Todd is one of the nicest , honest and hard working person you will ever have the pleasure of working with."

Dock Building and Repair questions, answered by experts

Rotting wood, loose boards, rusted fasteners, and damaged pilings often require repair to maintain safety and functionality.

If your boat dock and seawall appear to be failing at the same time, taking on the projects together may be easier from a permitting perspective. By doing a big project, you can ensure that everything in your property is safe and up to code. Depending on the size and condition of your boat dock, average boat dock repair cost can range from $834 to $5,432.

Yes, professionals can replace damaged flotation devices to maintain proper dock buoyancy.

The most significant factor in knowing whether to repair or replace your dock is the extent of the damage and its age. If you have minor cracks on a few boards and the dock is less than 15 years old, it'll likely be worth repairing the damaged part. However, it's time to replace this essential water feature if you have significant damage, such as rotting wood in multiple areas, warps or cracks in the dock supports, or a damaged foundation.

Docks can last between 20 and 30 years, provided regular maintenance has been performed. Upkeep tasks like staining your dock annually to prevent water damage, repairing broken elements quickly, and using dock covers regularly will help extend your dock’s life. Your dock is likely nearing the end of its lifespan when it shows signs of rot, rust, and foundation damage.
