"Very professional , responsive , affordable and clean work. We have never had such a great experience hiring a contractor. Bard was awesome and all the suggestions he gave were reasonable. My kitchen looks like completely redone although we just refaced the cabinets."

"James was early forvthe appointment, was efficient and organized He wasn't able to finish the job because a partner needed. He left specific written part numbers and said he would come back and install them when they came. I am i.pressed with his attitude and am looking forward to working with him for other projects. He is a very nice young man who is here to work, not stand around and chit chat. I like that"

"Tim (owner) was great to work with—professional, responsive, and very kind throughout the entire process. Jeff, the handyman who handled our plumbing, electrical, and general contractor work, was also fantastic. He was knowledgeable, easy to work with, and did excellent work. We’re very happy with the service and will definitely use them again in the future. Pricing was fair and much lower than other quotes. Highly recommend!"

"Garringer Painting recently stained my fence, and they did an outstanding job. The crew was prompt, professional, and paid close attention to detail. The stain was applied beautifully and really brought new life to the fence. They took great care with the prep and cleanup, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. 10 out of 10 — highly recommend! I’ll definitely be using them again for future projects."

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

No. Drywall anchors aren’t a good choice for hanging a cabinet because the opening and closing of the cabinet door can cause things to shift, the weight of a mirror is more than most drywall anchors can accommodate, and adding the weight of items stored in the cabinet will make this an even more precarious option. Using the correct mounting bracket for the cabinet you choose is the best way to hang a medicine cabinet.

Any of your garage shelves should be able to hold heavier loads, but it’s best to place heavier items on middle shelves. The only reason for this is to prevent injury—lifting heavy loads from down low requires squatting or bending over, which can lead to back injury, and lifting heavy loads off of high shelves in the garage can be especially dangerous if you drop them.

You can stack upper kitchen cabinets, but they may not fit neatly. Because upper kitchen cabinets are typically available in these standard sizes—12, 15, 18, 24, 30, 36, and 42 inches—you can stack various-sized upper cabinets. But, depending on your ceiling height, these standard sizes may not work together. That’s why smaller stacked cabinets are a much more stylish and economical choice.

Unless otherwise specified in the manufacturer’s instructions, in most cases you should attach the hinges to the cabinet door before attaching it to the cabinet frame. Once you attach the hinge to the door, you can then align it with the cabinet frame and screw it firmly into place. Be sure to consult the manufacturer’s instructions for best practices.

Refacing costs less than replacing because it uses the existing infrastructure. However, customizations and the quality of materials can still influence the expense.
