"Rolando called me to discuss the job within an hour of my project request. He was responsive and fast to schedule a consultation as well. He came 2 days later to remove and install the new carpeting. I couldn't be happier. The installation was thorough, well cleaned afterward, and the price was very reasonable. I'll happily use Rolando again, if I need another new carpet job soon."

"Do n's carpet restoration still uses the shampoo method of cleaning the carpet. Although that means the carpet is wet a little longer than others, it is worth it as shampooing seems to do a little better. My basement carpet looked like it needed to be replaced due to the grime. But Don was able to make the carpet shine. Worth whatever the cost for that type of work."

"TOP NOTCH SERVICE! From the initial call to schedule my appointment to the aftercare instructions and maintenance tips given after my cleaning was completed, this company personified professionalism. My carpet hasn't looked this good since I had it installed. I was impressed by the time and effort they put into removing stains. I've had my carpet cleaned in the past, and the stains have always come back....well, not this time. Wonderful job restoring it! Once again my carpet is soft, plush and vibrant with color. Thank you Deep Clean Professionals!"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

If the stairs are already covered in carpet, you will need to remove the old carpet and possibly the carpet pad. Any damage to the stairs like cracks, loose boards, or creaky treads may also need to be repaired. You may also want to sand and refinish or paint wood stairs before installing a carpet runner.

The difference between a 40-oz. and 60-oz. carpet is the carpet face weight, meaning the 60-oz. carpet weighs 20 ounces more per square yard. When looking at two similar carpets of the same material and type, the 60-oz. carpet face weight likely indicates higher quality and more durability due to heavier carpet fibers.

It is not recommended to install or stretch a carpet without a power stretcher. Skipping essential tools like a power stretcher and a knee kicker will likely result in an improper installation, leaving you with wrinkles, creases, and an unappealing final look. While a knee kicker can provide some limited stretching for thinner carpets, it is not a proper substitute. Attempting to stretch a carpet by hand or with homemade tools can also shorten its lifespan. For the best results, you should buy or rent a stretcher. If you do not want to use a stretcher, it is better to hire a professional for the installation.

When deciding whether to repair or replace your carpet, consider its age, the extent of the damage, and its location. It's often best to replace the entire carpet if the damage is extensive, such as large sections needing replacement, or if it's caused by water, which can lead to mold problems. Similarly, if your carpet is nearing a decade old, replacement is likely the more logical choice. On the other hand, consider repairing your carpet if the damage is localized to one spot, like minor rips or snags, the carpet is still relatively new, or the damage is in a low-traffic area of your home.

Decent carpet will last around 10 years on stairs. Some less durable carpets, like polyester, will only last five years on stairs. The ideal carpet, like wool or nylon, can last about 15 to 25 years. You’ll know when to replace it when it starts wearing down. You may have to replace it sooner if it's stained, whether due to water damage or pets.
