"Our kitchen backsplash looks amazing! They were very helpful and patient in helping us decide how thick to have the grout line. In one of the pictures we still need to add a cover for the telephone wiring."

"Carifa Tile did an amazing job on my kitchen job. Joe was extremely communicative and helpful every step of the process. His team did incredible work putting in a glass tile backsplash along with LED lights under the cabinets. We have a small kitchen in our condo, but the tile and lighting really makes it look spacious and luxurious. Would absolutely work with them again in the future."

"From initial quote to finish of job, Krumlauf was outstanding. We had a 1000 sq. ft. hardwood install that included demo of existing carpet and ceramic tile. I can NOT say enough about their attention to detail, the quality of their work, communication throughout, and since I'm not a billionare, their fair and reasonable pricing. I'm already targeting them for more flooring work over the next months."

"I had Pro-Flooring and more install Luxury Vinyl plank in several rooms and couldn’t be more pleased with the job. Almost 800 sq ft of LVP were installed in one day that covers 2 rooms and made it seamless. Mikhail was very professional and kept me informed on all aspects of the job. He added new baseboards to complete the look and the rooms are outstandingly beautiful. Thank you!"

Customers say: True professional

"Very smooth install. Ed was nice, personable, and timely. He installed the solar lights efficiently and correctly. And they function perfectly. Fee was very reasonable as well. He’s agreed to install similar lights next weekend at our daughter’s home located about 10 minutes away. We’re in the market for a new handyman, so would not hesitate to contact Ed again. Thank you."

"We are extremely pleased with the work that was done. Tim was very professional, worked in a timely manner and left my house clean at the end of each day. He helped me with the tile design and questioned me, when needed, to make sure he was doing what I wanted."

"I had an urgent project. I got my new dining set and thought that the delivery people were ask going to set it up. I was wrong. It was all in boxes and too heavy for me to put together. I put the job out and Benjamin got back to me almost immediately. He came over quickly, was extremely professional and friendly. Good man. I will definitely consider him and his company for future home projects."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Flooring transition strips can be secured to the subfloor using glue, nails, or screws. For a more secure installation, especially in high-traffic areas, using screws or nails is recommended as it reduces the risk of slippage. However, if aesthetic appeal is a priority, glue provides a cleaner, more seamless finish without any visible holes or screw heads.

Yes, you can tile over existing tiles in a bathroom, but it is not always recommended. For this method to be successful, the original tile surface must be clean, flat, and free of damage such as cracks, unevenness, mold, or mildew. While tiling over existing tiles can save time and money, there are potential drawbacks. The new adhesive may not bond properly, and the process adds extra weight to the wall or floor. Additionally, the increased height of the surface could interfere with door clearances. For the best and most durable results, removing the old tiles before installing new ones is generally the better option.

Mortar and thinset both serve the same purpose—tile adhesion—but have different compositions and use-cases. Thinset is heatproof and presents a wide range of possibilities due to the added polymers. Mortar is typically used for bonding stones and brick. Thinset is rarely used outside, while mortar is rarely used inside.

Terracotta tile is a broad term for clay tile that’s been fired in a kiln, and Saltillo tile is a specific type of terracotta tile produced in Saltillo, Mexico. In addition to Saltillo, terracotta tile comes in a range of other shades and styles. You’ll often find it used in buildings throughout Mexico, southern Europe, and the western United States.

Your tiles will have a significant visual impact on your bathroom, so you’ll want to make a thoughtful decision. Once you land on the tile material that suits your needs and budget, you can consider the color schemes you want. Consider whether you want something modern, classic, or eye-catching.
