"Everything went as perfectly as you could possibly hope for! From the initial evaluation, to the detailed cost estimates, to beginning and finishing the work, all was accomplished with impressive professionalism. When there was a small glitch (and there is always some glitch), they stepped right in to remedy the situation, all to our complete satisfaction. When some black grout stained some white woodwork in the hall, they sent out a painter to repaint! when a clock and towel bar in the bathroom was to be rehung on very expensive glass tile, they sent out a technician to drill and do the install (perfectly, I will add!). When an install on a lighting fixture resulted in a hole in the drywall (not Carifa's fault) they immediately sent out a handy man to re-spackle and repair the hole! What more could you want. The quality of the work was A+. They all receive our highest recommendation."

"The estimate for removing old backsplash and installing new backsplash was fair and reasonable. Workers arrived on time each day and worked continuous through the day. The removal was more difficult than originally thought but got the job done in set timeframe. Very pleased with their work and quality of the job. Would definitely recommend them."

"I had Pro-Flooring and more install Luxury Vinyl plank in several rooms and couldn’t be more pleased with the job. Almost 800 sq ft of LVP were installed in one day that covers 2 rooms and made it seamless. Mikhail was very professional and kept me informed on all aspects of the job. He added new baseboards to complete the look and the rooms are outstandingly beautiful. Thank you!"

"Very smooth install. Ed was nice, personable, and timely. He installed the solar lights efficiently and correctly. And they function perfectly. Fee was very reasonable as well. He’s agreed to install similar lights next weekend at our daughter’s home located about 10 minutes away. We’re in the market for a new handyman, so would not hesitate to contact Ed again. Thank you."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

As long as you follow the instructions on your peel-and-stick tile packaging, it should not damage your walls. A possible instance when you may accidentally damage your walls is if you install tiles improperly using additional adhesives that aren’t recommended.

Also, you can damage your walls if you’re not careful when removing tile. For example, you could accidentally make holes in the drywall with a paint scraper if you don’t heat the adhesive long enough before trying to pry it off.

Penny tile should be sealed to protect the grout from moisture and keep stains from damaging the look of the tile. If penny tile is in a humid or high-traffic area, like a bathroom, kitchen, or entryway, it needs sealant. Any type of tile and grout is best maintained with a sealant reapplied by a pro every one to two years.

Impact, water infiltration, or shifting subfloors often cause damage. Regular inspections help prevent significant issues.

How long painted tiles last ultimately comes down to the quality of the paint job and how much wear and tear the tiles get. It’s possible the paint job will only last about six months if the tiles are in a high-traffic area and they weren’t properly cleaned, sanded, and primed prior to painting and sealing. Well-painted tiles in a low-traffic area should last at least a year.

To make a bathroom look bigger, choose light-colored, medium- to large-format tiles. Light colors such as white, cream, or light gray make a space feel more open, while dark colors, busy patterns, and small tiles can make a bathroom feel smaller. It may seem counterintuitive, but small tiles can shrink a room visually due to the increased number of grout lines. Using medium- to large-format tiles creates a more seamless look. For the best effect, pair your light-colored tiles with a matching or similarly colored grout. This minimizes the grid-like pattern and gives the floor and walls a more continuous, uninterrupted appearance, helping the room feel significantly larger.
