"Good company to work with. There were some small oversights on the part of the estimator, but overall, nothing that I wasn't able to figure out with the install crew, once on site. I'd be happy to give them a call again on the next project."

"C I did a wonderful job installing a new front door and storm door for us. Both doors were top quality and the installers were quick and did a great clean up. Door function and seal were perfect. We have lived in several houses over the years and there is always work to be done but I don't think I have worked with a better outfit, from sales to installation, than CI. Thanks guys!"

"We had a neighbor's tree fall on our siding. StormGuard took care of EVERYTHING. They worked with my insurance to make sure I was getting what I pay for. I didn't have to lift a finger. The install was absolutely beautiful. They worked so fast and the communication was great. Tressa, Tim and the installers went above and beyond. It is refreshing to work with such a great company."

"Steve May was great! Steve's communication was excellent via phone, in-person, and by text. Steve thoroughly explained all to me, answering questions and concerns, and emailing me photos from the inspections and repairs. I appreciated his empathy managing this issue for me during a difficult time. The company was also responsive, prompt, and helpful letting me know what to expect when the service technician would come and the likely process after first visit. Billing was efficient and convenient via email."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Yes, you absolutely need a permit to add a window to your house. Your contractor can likely obtain this permit on your behalf. Ask about this when getting quotes from multiple window contractors.

Adding windows to a house is expensive. Budget roughly $5,800 to add a single window, and double or triple that to add two or three. In some cases, adding a single window can exceed $20,000, depending on the type of exterior wall, the size of the window, the type of window, local permit costs, and other factors.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.

If improperly installed, an egress window can compromise your foundation’s structural integrity, so it’s important to work with a pro to ensure your foundation remains in good shape. Any money you may save on a DIY egress window installation may cost you in the long run if your foundation is damaged in the process.
