"They did a great job at a fair price. The crew was prompt and professional. They had to remove the old driveway, which was thick blacktop over old concrete and graded the wrong way, allowing water to pool in the garage. The new driveway is concrete with steel rebar reinforcement. It looks fantastic and very solid. We've had a lot of compliments from neighbors! We would use them again for concrete work."

Small jobs welcome

"Most of what we do is full tear-out and replacement. We remove the old cracked, settling, or spalling concrete, rebuild the base the right way, and pour new. We also handle driveway extensions and widening, aprons and curb cuts, stamped and decorative concrete, and concrete repair.\n\nOur crews have poured more than 38,000 residential concrete projects. Every job gets a dedicated project coordinator, up-front pricing with no surprise change orders, and a final walkthrough before we call it finished. Licensed and insured.\n\nNeed a new driveway? "We were recommended Pullin's and had them come out to give a quote. They were prompt and gave us a quote immediately. We heard that they were not the cheapest, but we are willing to pay for superior work. They are a small shop and booked us for ~6-7 months after the quote. In between receiving the quote and the job, we discovered that we had concrete underneath the existing blacktop. I emailed them letting them know and inquired as to what the upcharges would be. They indicated it would be little to nothing, to which I responded that was fine and if it was going to be $1,000+, I wouldn't be OK. She responded "I thought you would say so". The day of the job, I reminded them of the concrete and guy leading the job indicated it was going to cost about $900 more to remove and haul the concrete. Given that it was now late fall and my options were to either pay it or tell them to walk, I let them do the work. The work was fine. Not the greatest. The main issue I have is that the edges of our new driveway aren't exactly straight, which is frustrating, but they were nice enough. I had pointed it out to them at the end of the job and they made a halfhearted attempt at fixing it. Afterwards, when I reminded the wife about our email exchange which happened months before she said she misread my email and would discount the job $200 which is the most she would be able to do given the additional labor and cost of disposal. At the end of the day, I went with Pullin's without having others bid based on a recommendation of them being fair, doing good work and being honest. I cannot, in good faith, recommend them to others based on our experience. I can fully appreciate that the misunderstanding on the extent of the concrete, but at the end of the day, I thought the craftsmanship was just OK, their prices were high (relative to some other neighbors who had work done), and their resolution of an issue that was previously discloused to be sub-par. Therefore, I rate them as C, which is Fair. That has been my experience."

"We hired Maxima Concrete after getting 3 estimates, they were competitively priced, and we saw the patio and walkway project they did for my sister last year and that turned out great. Tom the estimator had great input on what we had in mind. Jacquie in the office was friendly and very helpful answering questions as needed. Tear out and form setup was on July 16th a Friday. There was an issue with the forms for the new siting area off the porch. I called on Saturday morning at 8 AM leaving a voice message with Jacquie and not really expecting a response till Monday morning. Within 3 hours Flavio, the owner, came out and he saw what I was talking about and promised a crew would be out early Monday to correct it. At 7:45 Monday morning the crew came out and corrected the issue to our complete satisfaction. The following day the concrete was poured as scheduled. The whole project turned out great and looks FANTASTIC, exceeding our expectations!! We have had numerous compliments by neighbors. Both crews; the tear out & form placement crew and the concrete pouring crew, showed up as scheduled, were professional, performed outstanding workmanship and left the work area clean upon work completion."

"Anthony Marchi and his crew are hard workers. They dug out the old driveway and carted out the debris in roughly 5 hours and poured the driveway portion the next day. Then after a day of rain, finished pouring the sidewalk and apron even with the helicopter seeds coming off of a nearby maple tree. The finished product looks great. I recommend his company for anyone looking for quality concrete work."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

You should always power wash your driveway before applying a sealant. At any given time, your driveway could be covered with algae and moss, tire residue, oil and rust stains, and any combination of leaves, twigs, and dirt. If you skip power washing, you’ll be trapping the dirt and grime beneath the sealant and lowering its chance of cementing itself to your driveway. While you can expect the cost to pressure wash your driveway to average between $100 and $350, the few hundred dollars beats an unattractive driveway or paying extra to reapply your driveway sealer.

Regular cleaning, sealing, and filling gaps prevent weed growth and deterioration.

If you’re using water pressure above 2,000 PSI, you should wear a full face shield—at 4,000 PSI, a water jet can easily slice through skin. Always wear heavy-duty, waterproof gloves and rubber boots with metatarsal guards. If you’re working with hot water, make sure your gloves are insulated.

There’s no legal requirement that states that you need rebar in a concrete driveway, but since the slab will be supporting heavy vehicle loads, it’s always a good idea to pay a bit more for rebar reinforcement. Your driveway will be much more likely to crack if you don’t reinforce it with rebar. Driveways that need to support commercial vehicles or provide parking for multiple vehicles at once should always include rebar reinforcement. If you’re pouring concrete over asphalt or pouring concrete over an existing slab, you may not have enough depth for rebar, meaning an increased risk of cracking.

When hiring a professional to pressure wash your home, it's crucial to choose a company that is bonded, licensed, and insured. This protects you from liability if any accidents or property damage occur during the service; otherwise, the cost could fall on you. Before making a decision, vet at least three different contractors. Conduct thorough research by reading customer reviews, looking at examples of their previous work, and verifying the company's license. Before signing a contract, ensure you receive a written estimate that details all project costs. It's also wise to ask potential contractors a series of questions to gauge their professionalism and experience, such as:

  • How many years of experience do you have?

  • What are your credentials?

  • What cleaning methods do you use?

  • Do you have a workmanship warranty and insurance?

  • What is your availability?

  • What is your policy if you damage my property?

  • How long will the job take to complete?

  • How much do you charge?

  • What is your cancellation policy?

  • Do you offer a customer satisfaction guarantee or any additional services?
