"We had purchased a home that include a 13.5kw Generac whole house standby generator that was not actually installed but just sitting behind the house unused. I contacted JD Power Systems to see if they could test and verify that the generator worked and if so then hook it up. They sent out a technician free of charge that was able to get the generator up and running and was able to verify that it was basically a brand new never used generator. They gave me a fair quote of what it would cost to pull proper permits, move the generator to the correct location to be within city codes and get everything hooked up with a full house auto transfer switch. It took about 5 hours total to get everything done but i'm very happy with the results. The entire crew was friendly and courteous and I appreciated that they didn't mind me hovering around them as I watch them do the install."

The few who did we weren't pleased with because they kept telling us what they would do instead of listening to what we wanted done. We recently had the pleasure of working with Adam on a complete kitchen remodel, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Within fifteen minutes of meeting him we felt confident we had the right person. He listened to what we wanted and went out of his way to explain how he could make it happen. Adam’s expertise and attention to detail were evident from the start. He moved windows to make our kitchen arrangement feasible and you cannot tell that any work was done. They look like they were built that way when the house was constructed. Before the remodel our kitchen was poorly lit with two lights. We now have pot lights throughout the ceiling and under cupboard lights that are very welcome in the mornings, as they can be dimmed so you're not slapped with the brilliance of a thousand suns first thing in the a.m. As with all remodels there were some changes made along the way and he was able to adapt & always remained very professional. We had him redo the stairs to the basement (which are attached to the kitchen entrance) and the result was a work of art. Walking down the basement stairs no longer gives the impression that you're rolling the dice on whether or not they can support you all the way to the bottom. Sturdy and confident on every step. The new kitchen flooring made the rest of the house look bad so we had him lay it out into the living room and hallway. And again, it looks like it was made for the house. We waited six months to write this review to ensure everything was done correctly. Quite often you lose the thrill and start regretting some of the work that was done. Not in this case. Everything has held up perfectly & we have no regrets with our transformed kitchen. Adam’s work is exceptional, and his dedication to quality is unmatched. We are more than pleased with the results and highly recommend Adam for any remodeling project. Thank you, Adam, for rebuilding our kitchen into a space we love."

We have factory certified generator technicians who perform service and warranty repairs. The President of Portman Electric, Inc., Jeffrey Portman, has been an electrician since 1978. He is licensed by the state of Ohio as an electrical contractor ~ Ohio License #18634. For the past twelve years Jeff has volunteered as a CYO basketball coach, and most recently coached the Notre Dame Cathedral-Latin twelfth grade team. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys bass fishing and competing in bass tournaments on Lake Erie. He established Portman Electric in 1987 to provide quality electrical service for the community and has since expanded the company to include commercial and industrial electrical work. Portman Electric was contracted for ten years by Sea World of Ohio to provide electrical service for their park until it closed. Portman Electric currently serves other commercial and industrial clients, including Pentair Filtration in Chardon, Ohio which has been a client for the past fifteen years. "Technician repaired issue with generator. However, apparently, since I wore a mask when he came into my house to test it (as I should during a freaking pandemic), that makes me "scared" of COVID. The unprofessional little *@?# doesn't know my situation of having to take care of elderly in-laws, which means I have to be extra careful. He wrote on the work order to send me the bill because I was "scared of COVID." This shows a failing on multiple employees, as I'm sure that the person sending invoices is not the same person doing service calls. Additionally, I sent the copy of the work order in with my payment asking if they thought that was a proper way to treat customers. I did not receive a reply, but they cashed my check. So, I have my answer and they have their review. Looks like I will be giving the Generator Pros at Shepp Electric my business going forward. Too bad, I planned to do a 22kw replacement next year too. Also, one of their techs was very condescending to my wife on a previous occasion. So much so that she refused to deal with them."
