"Good company to work with. There were some small oversights on the part of the estimator, but overall, nothing that I wasn't able to figure out with the install crew, once on site. I'd be happy to give them a call again on the next project."

"They installed double-sided radiant barrier insulation along with foam boards. This was for a building that houses my woodshop. Great communication, he kept me updated on arrival time, and he was very meticulous on insulation application. Very pleasant personality. He took photos of the work as they laid it and sent me photos of all areas including hard-to-see areas. Did a great job on cleanup."

"When I called them, they scheduled an appointment with me and were out within a couple days. During our appointment, they performed an inspection and gave us all of our options. Once we decided on what we wanted, they had a crew out within a couple weeks to install our new roof. They were done in 2 days and cleaned up very well."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Adding windows to a house is expensive. Budget roughly $5,800 to add a single window, and double or triple that to add two or three. In some cases, adding a single window can exceed $20,000, depending on the type of exterior wall, the size of the window, the type of window, local permit costs, and other factors.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

You install a window well 8 to 12 inches deeper than the base of the window sill. After filling the well with drainage rock, the well should sit 3 inches below the bottom of the window. The top of the window well should also be at least 3 inches higher than the surface-grade ground. The window well should be about 6 inches wider than the window opening.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.

Egress windows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes cleaning the glass, inspecting the frame and well for debris, and making sure the cover or well drains properly. It is also important to check that the window sills and wells are watertight and to inspect and repair any damage to the window frame or seals to prevent leaks and maintain functionality.
