"This was a great experience.  From the start Micah separated himself from the other companies that we spoke to about our project.  First, we wanted a company that could do everything for us.  We found lots of patio guys, and lots of landscapers, but not many that did both on top of drainage work.
I scheduled an appointment for a quote.  Micah was the third quote that I had received.  Micah took his time in working up an exact quote for me.  He answered a lot of questions for me.  I appreciated him giving me options, but also his recommendation.  Micah was the most expensive of the three quotes.  However, I hired him as I felt that he understood my needs better than the other companies, and was going to deliver a professional outcome.  Frankly, I trusted Micah.
I ended up delaying the start of the project for personal reasons.  Micah was very understanding and worked with us on changing the start date.  This project was very intimidating to my wife and I .  And not to mention it was a lot of money.  Micah walked us through every step.
When the project started his team arrived as scheduled and began to work.  All of the team was professional and very polite.  They answered all of our questions.  It was very hot when they were working.  I was so impressed with their work ethic.  Their attention to detail was amazing.
At one point their Bobcat damaged our vinyl siding.  They informed us of the damage and replaced the vinyl siding the next day.
Like any large outdoor project, weather became a factor.  Micah kept us well informed when the weather forced a call off for the day.  The project did take longer than estimated.  However, this is no one's fault.  These large projects run into changes.  I credit Micah for keeping us informed daily.
And the estimate stuck.  I give Micah a ton of credit for that.
Whatever technique they used to re-seed the grass worked beautifully.  Now, we have a beautiful patio and yard.  The drainage issues that we were having are now non-existent.
Thank you to Dean Landscaping!  We look forward to using you again for the front yard project.

"I contacted Rhinokote early in the 2014 season to schedule an asphalt repair for the end of my driveway, along with crack sealing, and seal coating.
They provided a very thorough estimate very quickly, and I elected to move forward.  Due to a part failure during start-up for the season, it was several weeks before Rhinokote could perform the asphalt repair.  During that time, I received numerous calls and email messages from Rhinkote, including a call from the CEO, keeping me abreast of the status and estimate of when the work could be scheduled.
Their equipment was repaired in early May, and my work completed in late May.  Both the repair and the sealing work are outstanding.  The sealing job is easily the best I have had on this driveway.  My neighbor across the street was so impressed by the work on my driveway that they scheduled a seal coat of their driveway for the very next day.
I highly recommend Rhinkote.

"Came out and brought pea gravel and spread them all around, and they did a really good job around the house. The price was significantly lower than the price I got from the other companies. He came by to look at the driveway, He called me and gave a very good suggestion."

"I recently bought a duplex that I'm renovating, and I was seeking to improve the curb appeal and do some maintenance. The driveways were heavily cracked and crumbling. After getting about a half dozen quotes, I ended up choosing Kurt at the recommendation of another asphalt paver who couldn't get to the job fast enough. Kurt didn't have many reviews online, so I took a swing on him, and he didn't disappoint. He got to my driveways in a week's time, and I didn't even have to be home. I came home to two nicely paved asphalt driveways after work. Kurt also happened to offer the most competitive pricing."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

In Lancaster, the main driveway will see the most wear and typically needs resurfacing every 15 to 20 years. The driveway apron, where it meets the street, is also vulnerable to damage from city snow plows. Sloped sections are stress points due to drainage, while north-facing surfaces in OH are more susceptible to freeze damage because they stay wet longer and receive less sun.

Helpful?

Completing an asphalt paving project in Lancaster, OH, offers immediate benefits like improved curb appeal and enhanced safety by eliminating cracks and potholes. Proper grading also improves drainage. Long-term advantages include excellent weather resistance to Ohio's temperature extremes and a lifespan of 20 to 30 years with proper maintenance. A smooth surface also makes snow removal much more efficient during Lancaster winters.

Helpful?

With asphalt paving in Lancaster, unexpected needs can arise. The area's clay soil may require extra stabilization work, or poor water runoff might necessitate new drainage solutions like French drains. Delays from Ohio's unpredictable weather can extend project timelines. Additionally, discovering old concrete or utilities during excavation can add to the scope of work, and city permits are often required for driveway modifications.

Helpful?

A common mistake during asphalt paving projects in Lancaster is poor timing, such as scheduling work during wet spring months or extreme summer heat. Other pitfalls include inadequate base preparation for the area's clay soil and ignoring proper drainage for Lancaster's rolling terrain. Homeowners also err by not vetting contractors or attempting DIY sealcoating in humid conditions, which can lead to premature failure.

Helpful?

In Lancaster, OH, small issues can quickly escalate. Look for hairline cracks, as Ohio’s freeze-thaw cycles will expand them rapidly. Edge cracking, common due to local clay soils, is another red flag. Also, watch for pooling water after rain, which signals drainage problems, or raveling, where loose aggregate indicates binder failure. A small pothole can triple in size during one harsh winter.
