"Christian did a great job repairing the plaster damage in our living room. He was fast and efficient. When he uncovered some structural damage behind one section of wall he explained what needed to be done and only added a small amount to the original estimate. He is friendly and professional. I would highly recommend him!"

"I needed someone experienced in plaster repair to fix a large hole in the living room ceiling of our 60-year-old home. Nick and his crew were competent and did this at a very reasonable cost. The final cost was exactly the same as the original estimate. In fact while here, they did another small project for me without charging any extra. When they were finished, Nick made it a point to check to be sure that I was satisfied with the work that they had done."

"Very polite. Great work. He knows the painting business and applied all his knowledge in preparation and repairing areas of my rooms before painting them. He pointed out areas that needed replacing and replaced them. You could not go wrong with hiring him."

"Bob,
Said he would be at my home at 8:00am., he was here on time.  He arrived and started right to work.  First he fixed the tention on the door to my satisfaction, then moved on to the shower and repaired it.  However, first he went to Home Depot to pick up the part need for the shower.  Finally, he moved all items blocking the windows in the garage, removed old blinds, cleaned windows and hung new window blinds. Once he was finished he moved everything back to it's original location, and cleaned up, leaving no trash behind!
Bob was pleasant, efficient, and I believe reasonably priced for 2 hours of work, including travel to obtain a part.
Without a hesitation I will be using On The Job again!"

"

I bought a coupon for wallpaper removal in my kitchen.  The actual cost was more than the coupon (which I expected) and the additional cost to get the walls into condition for paint was more than I expected.

I preface this whole review with the fact that they had to work around a weird schedule as I travel for work and was only home on Fridays.  They said they could accommodate that.  While the work they did was

of good quality I was frustrated with the lack of communication around the schedule.  Often I was told a worker would come and they didn't.  Ocassionally they didn't call to say so.  I would often have to call them, got voice mail and dint know if I needed to stay home or not.

I had a couple issues with the quality.  The walls looked great but they missed a section and had to come back. They also were kind of sloppy with the mudding and left globs of hardened plaster on my outlets and light switches. In addition, after the snow melted in my yard I found a big glob of plaster on the grass where they had scraped out their tray into the snow bank next to my driveway.  I was also disappointed they didn't wipe down the walls after sanding.

So if you're a stickler for scheduling they might not be the best fit for you. Otherwise the work was good.

"GREAT! He did all the work and even provided some additional work for free. We have two rooms left as well as exterior, and he will be our go-to guy. He recommended the appropriate materials, work, repairs, etc. He worked long hours and met deadlines.... true to his word! We were lucky to find him!"

"It didn't work very well. They were supposed to give us drawings of the bathroom and kitchen, but it took weeks and weeks to get it back and then we had to remind him to do the bathroom too. It just didn't work out very well. He missed the first appointment."

Plaster Repair questions, answered by experts

In most cases, plaster repair will improve your home’s energy efficiency because a solid barrier of the insulative material helps keep conditioned air inside your home. Major plaster repair jobs like repairing large cracks or crumbling sections of plaster or applying a skim coat might make a noticeable difference in your heating and cooling bills. Not only can plaster repairs improve efficiency, but they can also reduce strain on your HVAC equipment, potentially saving you money on maintenance and repairs.

If your premixed drywall mud is dried out or has begun to set in the bucket, you may be able to revive it by adding warm water and stirring. However, the first and most important step is to scrape off any hard, dried bits of drywall that may have accumulated toward the top of the container and throw them away because they will not easily reconstitute back into the drywall mud mix.

Yes, you can apply new plaster over an existing plaster surface, such as a wall or ceiling, provided the old plaster is in good condition. Before you begin, check the stability of the existing plaster. The surface must be clean, free of loose material, and have no peeling paint. It is also recommended to roughen the surface slightly to promote adhesion. For older plaster, applying a base coat like a PVA emulsion or a specific bonding agent or primer is crucial. This step makes the existing plaster less porous and ensures the new and old layers adhere properly for a smooth, long-lasting finish.

Depending on how much adhesive was used as well as the strength of the adhesive, you may have some drywall damage when removing a mirror. You can typically repair most drywall damage if it’s small by sanding the damaged area, applying spackle to smooth the damaged section so it’s flush with the rest of the wall, and repainting the area.

Yes, you can use drywall repair techniques for some types of plaster damage. Tiny holes and small cracks in plaster can be patched in similar ways to drywall. You apply the necessary compound to fill the hole, wait for it to dry, then sand it down. For larger damage, like water damage or mold, you need to use plaster-specific techniques and materials.
