"We just had had to have a new furnace put in because of course when it was very cold ours went out. We called Logan and they came out the next day. Ryan was very nice he walked me through everything we would get how it worked and how much it would cost. Once we decided on what we wanted they fit us in right away. Kyle Q and Hakim were at our house all day and finished in 1 day. They were very nice cleaned up everything and the Kyle went through everything with us to make sure we understood everything! "Reviewed on Google but got no response: [*** Link removed ***] The salesman was polite and helpful. I would have given this review more stars, maybe even 4 or 5, but only 2 because of the install & non-follow-up: Workmanship is not up to par. The transition duct from the new furnace goes up at an odd angle, with neither angle at each side being symmetrical. The duct should have come straight down, as in the old. Air is flowing out from all four sides of this new paper-thin sheet metal. No attempt was made to seal it. So, in effect, I am cooling and heating a non-occupied storage room. The outdoor unit was solidly soldered in while it was not square to my house. One side overlapped the pad by several inches. Before the tech had me sign off on the job, I took him out to look. Low & behold, everything was square – but at what price? Twisting the unit after being solidly sweated in can cause a constant torque/pressure on the piping & fittings. The tech insisted all was well. The next morning, I had to look up online and call the main office because the AC wasn’t working (no contact info was given to me in case of an issue or workmanship concerns). A service tech came out and found a wire not properly terminated at the outside unit. I would have expected a call at some point from someone to ask how my install went, but I should have known better. I have pics that show the old transition from the furnace – everything straight up & down, and the new odd piece of garbage. Also, the before and after pics of the outside unit not properly in place, then twisted under torque back into place, square with the house."

There are several common types of HVAC systems that you may have, including split systems, hybrid HVAC, duct-free systems, packaged heating and air, geothermal heating, or even portable units for heating or cooling. If you aren’t sure which type is in your home or are looking to install something different, you should consult an HVAC pro to determine which option is right for your heating and cooling needs.

An evaporator or swamp cooler is a common alternative for small spaces. These coolers blow moist air into a space to help cool it down. They are more affordable than misters and use much less water. However, coolers will not have the same cooling effect as misters, cannot help plants survive the heat, and only reach a small area.

Costs depend on system age, type, labor, and whether part replacements are necessary.

The most obvious downside is the high upfront cost of buying and installing one of these systems. Additionally, sometimes the system can take a longer time to heat than alternatives like a boiler. Also, if something goes wrong with the geothermal pump, repairs are often significantly more expensive than repairing traditional, above-ground heat pumps.

You need to service an HVAC system about twice per year, with a service including an inspection and basic maintenance. It’s best to schedule maintenance in the spring (after the furnace has been running and before the AC kicks on) and in the fall (after the AC worked hard all summer and before winter’s first chill arrives). 

Regular HVAC services will keep the system working as efficiently as possible, saving you money on utilities and larger repairs. HVAC maintenance costs around $250 per visit, while bigger repairs from forgotten upkeep could cost thousands.
