Customers say: True professional

"Dave is a great plumber. Dave is also one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He even brings cookies at Christmas time. Does your plumber do that? I am always pleasantly surprised when I receive his bill. Owning a 100 year old home brings different challenges. Dave is a master at 100 year old plumbing."

"Everything went great! We tried to see if we can fix the problem but we were unsuccessful. So we got on Angie’s list and we hired Mr. Rooter Plumbing. The technician came in, found the problem and fixed it right away. We will most definitely hire Mr. Rooter Plumbing for any of our plumbing needs. Thank you so much Mr. Rooter Plumbing Service for helping and fixing our hot water tank problem."

"Very professional, knowledgeable, and honest. Out of the three quotes I received, his quotes were the fairest and he was the most experienced. In fact he saved me money by telling me what didn t need done! I have a full house renovation that was built in 1947 with all original plumbing and drains. He installed whole house PEX plumbing, all new drains, ran new gas lines inside and outside for a pool heater, and installed a hot water heater. He also was able to do work the other plumbers were hesitant to do, such as replace our water meter where the water main comes into the house. The work was done very well in the efficient timeframe he estimated. He also gave us sound guidance on how to prioritize our future work and what it would involve. All workers were professional in appearance, polite, and very friendly. He was also extremely flexible working around our concrete contractor who inconveniently show up to pour a new sidewalk the same day he was here to complete this huge job. I have only praise for his customer service and not one complaint. I just found my plumber for all future projects! I m just thrilled."

"For the last 26 years we've lived in a house that is now almost 60 years old. The contractor built it as cheaply as possible and the plumbing has always been problematic. We've used other local plumbers who were very good, but Allen Drain Service is the best of the bunch. On both occasions they arrived on time and were in and out within 45 minutes. Very friendly and professional guys. Cleaned up afterwards and gave us tips on how to minimize problems in the future. They charged what seems to be standard in our area for this type of service. I hope I don't have to use them again, but I know it's not a case of "if" but rather than "when." So. when it is necessary to clean out the drains again, they'll be who we call! Recommend them highly. (Angie's List members get a $5 discount.)

"George with Independence Plumbing and Bath exceeded my expectations. I had a tub and shower remodel that was not only finished earlier than quoted, but completed with such quality and at a great price. George is punctual, has great communication, and definitely knows what he?s doing and does it with care and professionalism. I would 100% recommend them to anyone who needs any bathroom repairs or remodels."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Functional plumbing work involves altering pipes or installing water heaters, which requires a local permit. Cosmetic work, like swapping a showerhead, does not require approval. However, cosmetic issues in Green often signal deeper functional problems. Discolored water or stained sinks point to mineral buildup from hard water, while peeling cabinets indicate freeze damage to pipes. Always address the root cause to protect your home.

Helpful?

Evaluate your property's age and water quality to determine if you need plumbing upgrades. Homes built in OH between the 1950s and 1970s feature aging galvanized steel pipes that restrict water pressure. If you notice rust-tinged water or heavy mineral scale on fixtures, replace your pipes. Properties with uninsulated crawl spaces or a history of winter freeze damage are prime candidates for rerouting vulnerable lines.

Helpful?

Updating your plumbing directly enhances daily comfort by restoring strong water pressure and improving water taste. Replacing older galvanized pipes eliminates mineral scale buildup on your fixtures. Relocating vulnerable pipes away from exterior walls removes the constant stress of winter freeze damage. Furthermore, adding modern basement bathroom rough-ins or laundry connections expands your usable living space and maximizes your home's functionality in Green.

Helpful?

In the short term, completing plumbing work reduces immediate freeze risks and prevents sudden burst pipes during cold snaps. Proactive repairs also restore daily water service reliability. Long-term benefits include higher property values and extended sewer lateral longevity. By lining older clay pipes to block root intrusion, you prevent severe water damage and bring your property into full compliance with updated OH building codes.

Helpful?

Homeowners frequently skip pulling required permits for functional plumbing work, which derails future real estate sales. Another major error involves misdiagnosing slow drains as minor issues when they actually indicate frozen pipes or tree roots in the sewer lateral. Finally, residents fail to winterize outdoor hose bibs properly. Always insulate exposed pipes in unheated spaces to withstand the freezing winter temperatures common in Green.
