"Services: Unclog drain, Repair toilet, Repair pipe. // Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness // Haines was recommended to me saying they were good at their job. I called them Monday, Feb 15th about a clogged drain, they came out Tues Feb 16th at the time I was told they would be there, which was great! They were there from 3:30 pm to 6:50 pm. Some repairs had to be made to the laundry tub drain and my toilet had to be lifted so they could access that portion of the drain. After the toilet was replaced, the shut-off valve leaked, so I asked them to replace that also. The work that was done created quite a mess... BUT, when they were finished you would never know that. Everything was cleaned up so well and disinfected, it looked nice and smelled nice. The workmen were very professional and knowledgeable about their job. I will add this company to my contacts as a reliable source for repairs."

"Had Abe out to correct a clogged drain on a Sunday morning. Snaking didn’t work so he called for the water jet truck. Tony came out and they ran a camera and found a break. Tony explained to us that this break should have been caught when they were last out and it will be fixed free of charge under their warranty. They were both very professional and thorough, explaining every step as they went along. Gotta love a company that stands bytheir"

"I had an "Emmergency" basement flooding after washing a load of clothes. The drain was clogged near my washer, it backed up with this black stinky mess. I contacted Angi's List, he called right away. It was around 2pm , he was able to come that day around 7pm. Ken cleaned out the drain that led to the sewer it front of my house that had grown clogged with roots from my tree in the front yard. Great job would highly recommend!"

"I was walking in my family room when I felt a drop of water on my forehead.  I looked up and the ceiling was leaking, with water spots in several spots.  I drilled with a small bit into the ceiling at several spots, and water fell through the holes at a good clip.  About a quart of water was collected before it stopped.  I thought it might be a wax ring problem and called Doug.  He came right over, installed a new wax ring for starters, along with a shutoff valve and supply line.  Doug said that the drain was probably cracked but he would try the easy stuff first. When the toilet was flushed, more leaking.
Doug said that I had a cracked drain, and that the best solution was to replace that part.  He said that he could get to it after labor day, a couple of days.  Until then I used the other bathroom.
Doug and his assistant showed up on time and cut the ceiling to obtain access to the drainpipe.  The cut was smaller than I thought, about 1' by 2', and that was a big plus.  The cracked pipe was cut out and the new drain pipe was installed.
Doug works efficiently and cleans up any mess. I have used his expertise two times now,  I would recommend him to anyone.

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

While technically possible, it is unlikely that a clogged toilet will fix itself. Clogs caused by water-soluble materials like toilet paper or human waste may eventually break down in the water, allowing flow to resume. However, this can take time, and any clogs from solid objects require manual removal. In most scenarios, especially if you don't have another bathroom, it is best to fix the clog yourself or call a plumber.

Clogs in a sprinkler valve can be caused by various factors, including debris in the water supply, sediment buildup inside the valve, or damage to the diaphragm. Debris and sediment can accumulate over time, obstructing the valve's passages and impeding water flow. Damaged diaphragms may develop tears or holes, leading to blockages and affecting the valve's ability to open or close properly. Regular maintenance and cleaning can help prevent and address these issues, ensuring your sprinkler valve operates smoothly.

Several signs can tip you off to a clogged dishwasher drain. At first, you may notice that it’s taking longer than usual for the dishwasher to drain, or you may hear gurgling sounds during the draining part of the cycle. You might also notice water backing up into your sink or excess food at the bottom of the dishwasher after a load. The most obvious sign, though, is seeing standing water at the bottom of your dishwasher after the cycle has finished.

In some cases, operating a snake can damage your drain and pipes. This depends on the overall condition of your pipes and how gently you operate the auger. For instance, older galvanized pipes covered in zinc are susceptible to scratches when using a drain snake. Additionally, it’s common for newbies to apply too much force when extending the snake, leading to scratches and related damage. You can also crack the porcelain with an electric auger if you’re snaking a toilet drain. If you’re using a manual snake or auger, the risk is minimal.

A saturated leach field can result from various underlying issues, so it's best to call a professional septic company to diagnose and treat the problem. Depending on the cause of the saturation, potential fixes include pumping out a full septic tank, adding more bacteria to the tank, or regrading the soil to fix low spots. It may also be necessary to reroute rainwater and runoff away from the leach field using gutters, downspouts, and extenders. Once the primary issue is resolved, planting specific types of vegetation over the area can help absorb excess water. In more severe cases, you might need to install a larger septic tank or replace the leach field entirely.
