"We've got an early 80's Zicka 4 BR house. Turns out the foundation drainage wasn't done properly when the house was built...our sump pump only drained ~1/4 of the basement because water doesn't flow uphill. Everdry jack-hammered the inside perimeter of the basement, replaced the drain system, installed a Cadillac-grade sump pump, trenched around the outside of the foundation, installed plastic sheeting & french drains. I've never seen a crew work like them. Wasn't cheap, but the job definitely wasn't easy. I hope Ian the crewleader runs for president."

"Staydry Waterproofing did a fantastic job installing exterior foundation drains at my home. The crew, led by Vic, was great — professional, friendly, and efficient. Vic made sure everything was done right and explained the process clearly. The job was finished on time, and I’m very happy with the results. Highly recommend!"

"Had Betts Structural Engineering come and look at the foundation of a house we were in contract on. Josh came out and was professional and informative. He informed us the foundation was failing and explained what needed to be done. He throughly explained everything and told us how we could do it ourselves for much cheaper than a contractor could do it. In the end he saved us from a long and expensive process if we proceeded with the house."

to lay down carpet protectors and to cover the furnishings with plastic sheets. Next came the jackhammering of the concrete perimeter and  the removal of the concrete and stone base. A new sump hole was dug after the water softener was removed. The SuperSump was installed and the pouring of new stone and concrete continued. On the third day the concrete had cured and the water softener was replaced. Work on the Brightwall was begun which entailed the removal of several outlets. The outlets were replaced with modern boxes at no additional charge. The fourth day had most of the wall work done. The drain for the new sump system was installed through the exterior brick wall and into the yard. The protective plastic was removed and a clean up of the remaining trash was finished. The chair rail of the wainscoting was finished, except for two sections. The remaining pieces awaited on order and would be installed when they arrived. A check with BD promised the completion of the job in the next week. The work was completed on 4/15 to my satisfaction. The staff answered my questions about insulating the exterior walls and painting the drywall.

The sump system was installed just in time for several days of rain. Almost by accident I found out about and got a copy of their instructional book, Basement Finishing Science by Lawrence Janesky, a comprehensive guide to nearly all aspects of dry and useable basements. All BD customers should be offered this booklet.
We are pleased by the results of the work so far. The damp smell l from the humid, moldy drywall has diminished and will
improve once the carpeting is removed. The new sump has functioned from the start. The relative humidity is about 50%.

"I reached out to Stay Dry Waterproofing for a quote on waterproofing my basement. They told me (as did other companies) that I needed to put a gutter system in my basement to alleviate pressure on the foundation and prevent future water damage. The sales team and inspector were very knowledgeable, friendly, and prompt when answering my requests. I did not go with this company because the price to do the work was almost double what the other two companies quoted me. This is also why I am giving them a "C'" rating."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

No, you can’t drain your sump pump into your home’s sewer system. In fact, it’s against the law in many places because dumping extra water into a municipal water system can disrupt or overwhelm the treatment process. And for similar reasons, you shouldn’t discharge a sump pump into your septic system, either.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.

The least expensive basement waterproofing methods include grading soil away from your home, installing downspout extenders on your gutter system, and applying a waterproof paint on the interior of the foundation walls. Installing a French drain is a relatively inexpensive method if you do the work yourself, although it’s labor-intensive and can be challenging to install properly.

A grinder pump is a major investment for homeowners and business owners alike. Protect this investment by choosing a reliable and reputable contractor to source the pump itself, install it, and outsource any additional work. Research local sewage system contractors ahead of time to ensure they have the appropriate insurance and licensing. You should also perform a fairly thorough online search to get a feel for the company’s professionalism by reading reviews.

Finally, give them a call to discuss the project. A good technician will be more than happy to get into specifics regarding both the installation process and the pricing.

Your sump pump will discharge water through a discharge line or pipe. The discharge line should be placed at least 10–20 feet from the foundation to avoid any issues.
