"Fabulous! We first hired Custom Colors Painting 10 years ago to paint our house exterior. They also painted a couple of our white kitchen cabinets when we were getting ready to put our house on the market and did a fabulous job. Just had them paint our new Hardie board exterior and they did not disappoint. The crew was wonderful to work with and we love the end result. Thank you, Dave!"

"This is a family run business. They were wonderful. Jose bid on the job and was ready to start within a week. He gave me a great quote. Negotiated a price but I gave him a $200 tip as they were clean, friendly, courteous, and respected my property. They taped everything that they needed to tape for painting. They even replaced soffit light bulbs that I supplied at no cost. They also replaced a 6 x 6” banister on my front steps and painted it and it is professionally done. I’m very happy with their work. I plan on hiring them again to do some interior Painting."

"Trino and his two men worked well and got the whole kitchen done in a timely way. The work was VERY good and can recommend them for your job. This was to repkace the flooring, add a couple electric lines, run a waterline across the floor to new fridge, install new cabinetry and paint the walls! Bob"

"Robert McQueen came out and gave me and my neighbor quotes to replace our roofs. The estimates were considerably less than other companies I received quotes from. As soon as the weather was good enough they began their work and completed it in a reasonable time. Included in the job were some minor roof deck repairs, added flashing where there wasn't any and some additional gutter supports where needed. On these types of jobs, I always expect the clean up to be marginal at best. Their clean up was exceptional. I highly recommend them and would definitely would hire them again."

"We had several projects to execute and wanted a single contractor to complete them if possible (large stamped concrete patio, piers for a future shed building, and French drains). Owner Scott Jaeger stopped by within a few days, provided detailed quotes for each individual project later the same day, and worked with us in a timely manner as we made adjustments to the projects. Good communications on start dates with reasonable adjustments due to weather. Project foreman Rueben and his hard-working crew answered our (many) questions and responded to our input for adjustments on the fly to make sure we got the patio layout, patterns, colors, and grading that worked best for us (see pictures). Thanks guys ! We are really enjoying our new patio, and the piers are ready for our future shed construction. Additionally, our neighbors had a concrete driveway apron poured by Rueben's crew at the same time and were very happy with the results."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Neutral colors like white, tan, beige, and light brown are the most popular stucco colors. Natural stucco has a grayish color due to the high concentration of Portland cement in the material, but most homeowners have their contractors add pigments to create a more inviting appearance. Stucco is most popular in hotter climates, where it provides ample insulation to regulate interior temperatures and keep the solar heat out. Since lighter colors reflect more sunlight, lighter stucco is more prevalent.

Many general contractors can handle adding stucco siding, but it’s best to hire a local stucco contractor as you’re more likely to get a clean finish on your stucco siding that maximizes curb appeal. Stucco can be a challenging material to work with, so hiring a professional contractor who has years of experience and specializes in stucco application is advisable. Compare price quotes from at least three stucco contractors in your area to find the right pro for your task.

The best adhesive that works on stucco is usually a product specified for use on stucco or concrete surfaces. The adhesive will need to be strong to grip the stucco, but should also wipe away clean when used in a temporary application. You can also consider using super glue or hot glue on stucco.

The Mediterranean style is unique in that it’s designed for homes in hotter climates and to maintain a connection with nature. The building materials include stucco siding, clay roofs, and interior tiling with tall ceilings and open floor plans. These all come together to keep the interior cool. The building materials are all natural and tend to have muted earth tones, and the architecture typically allows for easy, open access to the outdoors through large windows and arched doorways. The decor and architecture can range from simple and functional to opulent, depending on the type of Mediterranean home it is.

Solid, unpainted stucco shouldn’t suffer damage from dots of glue used for this task. If the stucco is dirty, you may notice slight marks when you heat and peel the glue away, but these aren’t permanent.

However, not all stucco walls are solid stucco. Some are “faux” stucco with a foam backing. This kind of stucco veneer is more susceptible to damage, including damage from hot glue. We don’t suggest attaching anything to these kinds of stucco walls, so make sure you check the stucco type before starting this project.
