Customers say: Quality work

"Jack & his Assistant Russel did an exceptional job remodeling our main bathroom. We had them tear out our tub & install shower. The tile job is fantastic!!! So many compliments already. They were timely, always arrived when they said they would be here & we felt we could really count on them to do everything properly. Jack estimated two weeks and they finished ahead of time. We were actually sad to see them go. Very kind & personable. Trustworthy too!!! Also kept areas clean & covered pathways. We cannot say enough to praise their great work!!! We are more than satisfied 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻"

"The end quality and workmanship was great! The only draw back was the height of the splash guards a bit too high. The counter got installed by the splash guards had to be trimmed and installed a few days later. Carlton does great work and delivered in the end a good installation."

"1) Our roof shingles were getting old and had strange mold stains on them. We contacted Doug Bierer and he gave us an estimate that was reasonable. He presented several options of styles and we chose the architectural style. He showed up with two other workers and completed the job within 3 days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up the area around the house... it was nice to not have our house looking like a messy construction site.

2) Doug replaced the old siding on the front of our house to match an extension we had put on the side.

3) We had Doug also replace our kitchen floor. He and his partner ripped up the old linoleum flooring and put down the new laminate flooring in one day. They expected to be done by 5, but ended up staying until 8:30 to get the job done. Again, he left the kitchen in clean condition. When some air bubbles appeared in the flooring, I called him and he returned within the week to fix the floor.

I was extremely impressed with his honesty, professionalism and high quality of workmanship. I've been recommending him to all of my friends!"
In the interior of the sunroom, white PVC wall panels were installed on the house wall, giving it a modern look as well as being water resistant.

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

It’s easiest to start from an edge as it gives you a straight line. A problem may arise if your edge doesn’t line up perfectly, in which case it’s best to start from the center. Some think that starting tile from the center adds a focal point in the center of the hearth.

Impact, water infiltration, or shifting subfloors often cause damage. Regular inspections help prevent significant issues.

Like glass tiles, you will not need to seal most porcelain tiles, particularly if the porcelain is already glazed. It depends on quality. Porcelain is very water resistant, but it is not 100% waterproof. To avoid staining, some homeowners use a penetrating sealer. It is also a good idea to seal your grout. Unless you use epoxy grout, grout is very porous and can harbor bacteria, mold, and mildew.

On average, tiling a bathroom involves about 12 hours of labor, usually spread over two to three days to accommodate prep work and curing times. A professional tiler can often complete the installation in 6 to 8 hours, whereas a DIYer might take 10 to 16 hours. The total project time is influenced by factors like the bathroom layout, tile type, and necessary prep work, such as removing old tile. The process includes specific timelines for different areas; for example, tiling a floor takes about six hours, while a shower area can take six to ten hours. It is essential to allow for adequate curing time—typically 24 hours each—for the mortar, grout, and caulk, which is why the project extends over several days.

As long as you follow the instructions on your peel-and-stick tile packaging, it should not damage your walls. A possible instance when you may accidentally damage your walls is if you install tiles improperly using additional adhesives that aren’t recommended.

Also, you can damage your walls if you’re not careful when removing tile. For example, you could accidentally make holes in the drywall with a paint scraper if you don’t heat the adhesive long enough before trying to pry it off.
