"arrived on time and completed replacement of 3 basement glass block windows. Clean up of broken glass that fell into the house could have been better but not enough to change rating."

"It went okay, except for three problems. One window had been measured incorrectly and had to be completed at a later time. Another window was not measured or replaced, despite reminding them that it still needed to be done. Finally, they broke a sliding glass door insert and didn't completely clean it up. I had to call them back to do it properly, and when they came, they had a bad attitude about it."

"A wonderful experience all around. Bill came out to give my mother and I an estimate for 7 glass block windows for our basement. He showed us the various design samples for the blocks and took the time to explain the whole process and what to expect the on the day of installation. Tom and another gentleman(didn't get his name unfortunately) came out and completed the installation in about 3 hours. They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. The windows look wonderful and add so much light into the basement. Would highly recommend this company."

"I had recently bought a used car which had very a very cheap and distorted windshield previously installed. It was so bad I would get dizzy or get headaches while driving. I called around looking for different prices, and not only was Guardian Auto Glass the cheapest, they were the only company that had a kind, knowledgeable person answering the phones to give me information that I needed.

I had called around to get quotes, and when I mentioned I had their coupon from Angie's List, they saved the quote under my name so if I could call around some more and come back to them if I wanted. A few weeks went by before I decided to go through with getting my windshield replaced, and they still had the quote saved under my name when I called which was very convenient so I could set up an appointment right away.

They set up my appointment for the next day, in which the mobile service was going to come to my house to do the installation. The employee was right on time, and it took him less than an hour to replace the windshield. The glass is crystal clear, no distortion or imperfections whatsoever. While he was installing the windshield, he was very professional and courteous, and answered all my questions with intelligence and honesty.

I was very worried about having my windshield replaced, especially considering it had been replaced before with very cheap and dangerous glass, but Guardian Auto Glass exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely do business with them again if needed."

"The service was second to none. Peyton and his team are professional, punctual, and masters of their craft. I cannot rate them highly enough, five stars does not do them justice. If you donâ t use this company for your glass needs you are missing out on the best!!!"

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Keep children and pets off the lowest floor during glass block service to protect them from silica dust and curing fumes. Ask your contractor to secure temporary openings with plywood to keep out local OH wildlife. Turn off your HVAC system to prevent dust circulation. Restrict access for 48 hours after completion, and thoroughly inspect the basement floor for sharp glass debris.

Helpful?

Completing glass block service provides immediate waterproofing protection against wet springs and heavy clay soil moisture. Insulated panels improve thermal performance during freezing Akron winters, while the durable blocks significantly enhance home security. Over time, sound window installations prevent structural foundation deterioration and stop moisture infiltration. This proactive maintenance ultimately protects indoor air quality by denying mold the humidity it needs to grow.

Helpful?

Address glass block service immediately if you notice cracked mortar entering winter or active water infiltration. Akron experiences harsh freeze-thaw cycles and heavy snow that rapidly worsen compromised joints. You should also act fast if clay soil shifting causes visible bowing. Cosmetic issues like minor surface discoloration or efflorescence can wait for favorable late spring or early fall weather.

Helpful?

Unplanned expenses during glass block service stem from underlying masonry deterioration. Many older OH homes feature crumbling concrete foundation walls that require repair before installing new panels. Enlarging a basement window to meet egress building codes or abating lead paint in pre-1978 properties also adds unexpected expenses. Finally, scheduling winter work requires special heated enclosures that increase the overall project total.

Helpful?

A standard glass block service repair or replacement takes a local professional one full day of on-site work. If your older Akron home requires surrounding masonry repairs, expect one or two additional days. Resizing an opening for egress compliance extends the timeline to five days. Mortar requires a strict 24-to-48-hour initial cure time before the window can withstand moisture or stress.
