- CleanBright Surface RestorationThis is my second experience with Matt and he was again excellent. Problem: water seepage into basement with resulting mold sufficient to make me physically ill. Matt arrives on time with his assistant, gets to work and completes the work from day to day until complete, excepting weekends. He is open to discussing alternatives that may be less costly and to trying these alternatives, with the express understanding that these may not work sufficiently and more thorough work, additional work may be needed. It is always clear that the work being performed is necessary, and if additional work is needed, the new work would build on the prior work done. So there is no wasted work, and little to no downside to trying a more limited approach to see if that is sufficient. I can always call him to come back and upgrade, which in this case would be to install a ditch around the inside perimeter of the basement for drainage to the already installed sump pumps. The cost is entirely reasonable given the amount of work performed and the time commitment involved (almost 5 full work days). I recommend Matt without reservation
- CleanBright Surface RestorationOur finished basement flooded due to heavy rain in the late evening of 2-24-2015. I discovered the flood in the early morning on 2-25-2016. The entire finished basement (carpeted) was flooded with free standing water everywhere. I immediately knew I couldn't tackle this job myself. So I searched Angie's List and selected CleanBright Surface Restoration based on their feedback and I'm so glad I did. I called Matt at 7:00 am and he returned my call within 20 minutes! I was very happy when Matt told me he would be at my house by 9:00 am. At 9:00 am on the nose, Matt and his fantastic crew arrived and immediately got to work. Not only did they remove the carpet and damaged furniture, but they also removed a very heavy TV. These guys were awesome to work with! They were very polite, and just nice people! By 4:00 of working non-stop, other than taking a very short lunch break, only 30 minutes, the basement was drying. They left 10 air dryers and two industrial dehumidifiers running. Matt came to the house every morning for the next three days to test the walls to make sure they were properly drying and to move the dryers to different places in the basement. He also applied a mold inhibitor to the floor. On Sunday, all of the moisture readings were back to normal and Matt removed the equipment. If you need a professional, polite and hardworking company to restore your house after a flood or any other event, I would highly recommend Matt and the CleanBright Surface Restoration crew! He explained what needed to be done to remedy the damage and deal with issues related to mold. He also provided professional advice on ways to keep our basement dry and free from further damage (e.g., placement of our humidifier in basement, need to obtain a humidifier that covered more square footage). We really appreciated Matt's (and his crew) professionalism, reliability, and hard work. They were there when we needed them and they did an excellent job in addressing our basement flooding. "We have used the services of 518 Remodel on two separate occasions. Their service and work have always been outstanding. In the fall of 2017 they added 8 feet to our garage and then built and outfitted a mudroom/ laundry room for us. This was an extensive project which required construction, excavation, paving, electrical, plumbing, painting, concrete and drywall work. All this work was completed to the highest standards. We again, hired this company in March 2021, to do some attic work and to retile 2 bathrooms. Here again we were fully satisfied and impressed with the jobs that were done for us. "Matt was and his team were amazing! To begin with he responded to my voicemail within 5 minutes and said he would come look at my situation in 1 hour. He was there in the said 1 hour. He looked at the damage I had and said he would leave to go get men and equipment from another job and return in 1.5 hrs. And, again he returned in the promised amount of time. By the end of the afternoon all the wet carpet had been removed, furniture moved and mold discovered. He suggested a mold expert (I had no idea who to call), called him and set it up for him to contact me. Once the mold expert came and did his inspection and issued his report Matt and his team returned and followed the report to safely and appropriately remove all the moldy materials. After that work was done, several days of dehumidifiers running and a follow up onsite review and report by the mold expert giving the all clear Matt and his crew started rebuilding my basement. He had good suggestions and the work was completed to my wishes and satisfaction! I found Matt to be honest, trustworthy and committed to making my finished basement the way I wanted it. He stayed in constant touch via text with me and got back to me quickly answering and questions I had.
