"Frank was so great to work with on turning our 2 bedrooms into 3 bedrooms upstairs in our house. He always communicated with us promptly about what he had done and what would be coming up for the next day or days. I would not hesitate to recommend him to others who needed a good contractor to get a job done well. Thank you Frank for making our home renovation go smoothly!"

"The job went extremely well. Ani & crew fit us in over a weekend so floor could be put in before it was too cold. Very professional, hard working, agreeable crew. Left the basement spotless. The new floor looks great."

"I was very happy with the way they did every thing. They took their time and asked questions , and also took questions. They were great working together and easier working in the heat. I would hire them again without any doubt. Thank You!"

"Steve is very knowable of every aspect of the construction process (design, excavation, foundations & framing). When a crew is needed Steve is the conductor and the crew is very skilled at providing quality performance. When the going gets tough he keeps going by accepting the challenge and works it through to the end. Only complaint, coordinating his work schedule with me. I do not always know when I will see him again. However, if I call he always answers. I plan on using him again on my next project."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

A floor plan is a less detailed illustration showing a building or room's layout from above, including elements like windows, doors, walls, and fixtures. It offers a simplified view for homeowners. In contrast, a blueprint is a more detailed, to-scale architectural drawing that includes all parts of the building plans, such as structural elements, construction details, and utility schematics. While a floor plan can be a type of view within a blueprint, the complete blueprint contains all the necessary details to turn the plan into a reality.

Costs vary depending on project complexity and scope. Architects generally charge a percentage of the total budget or an hourly rate for their services.

No, space planning is not only relevant for new spaces. With the help of a professional architect, you can still create a space plan for an existing space.

Italianate architecture is a reinterpretation of Renaissance styles, combining elements of Italian farmhouses and villas with Victorian materials and construction. This home style emerged in the Victorian era, gaining popularity in the U.S. in the mid-to late-1800s. The style came about in response to what many then viewed as the too-rigid and stuffy Classical style designs.

It is technically possible to draw your own blueprints, but the process is extremely involved and really demands help from an expert. A professional architect has an understanding of design elements, interior design, the functionality of different rooms in a home, and how everything from furniture, outlets, and light switches should be laid out to serve you and your family best. Hiring an architect for blueprints can get expensive, but it’s the most responsible way to begin a new construction project. If you’re keen on DIYing, you could consider starting the process and then having a professional take over.
