Mike Rimi was very helpful with design suggestions and solving problems created by elder work. Excellent work and workman-ship by Mike and his terrific crew.

I am an interior decorator and work with Mike on many of my projects, most recently this rather extensive renovation on the Upper West Side. Mike and his crew are efficient, clean, and always respectful of the client. But most importantly, Mike and his team do great work. They made old beat up, rotting walls with years of caked-on paint look brand new, then painted them beautifully. They repaired and rehung two sets of old French doors, getting them to work again and even restoring the original brass hardware that had been covered in years of paint. They incased pipes that ran throughout the apartment, creating soffits that look like they are part of the original architecture. The building is old and has settled unevenly, so no walls are level, but they managed to build wraparound cabinets with bookshelves that went to the ceiling and made everything look level and perfect. It is so important to me that a contractor has both a practical and an artistic mind, so that you are not butting heads over creativity and design. Mike has such a mind. I can show him a simple sketch (seriously, these are not to-scale draft drawings- more like a kid's illustration!) and Mike will work with me until he understands exactly what I want. Then he builds what I had envisioned. Beautifully. What Mike and his crew created for this home was truly special, and my clients are beyond thrilled! As am I.

I highly recommend Mike Rimi for any work to be done. His price was reasonable in the middle range of bids. He worked well with my architect and managed to deal with the paperwork involved with a renovation of a NYC coop apartment. He also dealt well with the building management. The building superintendent told me that Mike is the best contractor that has worked in this building. No only is his crew reliable, but the subcontractors he hires such as electricians, plumbers and cabinet makers are very skilled. Mike is very good at explaining existing conditions, why something cannot be done and is able to offer very good alternatives. He communicates well. He is very responsive with addressing any problems that have risen since completion of the job.

The old dishwasher was 15 1/2 years old, so we knew this was not going to be an easy job. We were lucky to find Mike Rimi. He was professional, polite, honest & reasonable. He did an excellent job from start to finish. He could do just about anything in home repairs. We asked him to come back and do an outdoor Hose Faucet Replacement. He did an excellent job. We would definitely hire him again. All work was completed on 8/16/15.

Mike is amazing. He knows all there is to know about houses and ensures that all the work is done right. He's had a lifetime of experience restoring historic homes and doing just about every other type of work from new construction to restoration.

He can do anything involving a house. He's done a lot of restoring projects for me. He dealt with all kinds of housing codes and bringing a building up to code. He's very creative and solved a lot of problems for me. It's pretty amazing stuff. He can really do anything, in terms of renovation -- anything from carpentry to major repairs. He's an older guy. He's been doing it a long time, so he knows a lot of the tricks. He knows old house, like ours, which was built in the 1920s. He was good to us with the pricing.
