"Pasquale was amazing. Due to heavy rains, my basement had a flood. Pasquale came within 2 hrs driving from Brooklyn to assist me. You don't get good people like this. He changed my sewer drain and added a sump pump. Very professional and he really cares about his customers and wants to make sure he does a correct job. I was fortunate to have him."

"The job went well. My only issue was the price. It seemed a little too much but I'm not an expert and i didn't have the opportunity to shop around first. I needed the job done quickly. They came in very professional and got it done so I paid for it. Next time I will research a little more but I will definitely call Mako plumbing if any other plumbing issues arise."

"We hired Barbara to fix the kitchen sink, install a valve in the bathroom sink, and repair the shower in the upstairs bathroom. On a second trip, she installed new outside spigots to the back and front of the house. Everything's working great and she was on time and reasonable in price."

"My gas water heater was 12 yrs old and needed to be replaced. Since I had prior experience with Mr. Rooter installing a water filter under my sink, I felt confident that the job would be done professionally. Rohan and Derick did an excellent installation of the Water Heater. The office was excellent too in informing me of their arrival time. I high recommend Mr. Rooter."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

No. Sump pumps have different capacities, which refers to the volume of water that they can remove. They also come in various horsepower ratings, which measure the size of the pump’s motor. For many homes, 1/3 horsepower is enough. But if you live in an area that floods often, you might need a more powerful model.

Test regularly, clean the pump, and inspect the discharge line to ensure efficient operation.

Yes, many modern water pumps are designed with energy efficiency in mind. Look for pumps with high efficiency ratings or those with an Energy Star certification. These pumps consume less power and can reduce your utility bills. Additionally, variable-speed pumps are more efficient since they can adjust the flow based on demand, providing significant savings over time.

The life span of a water pump ranges from five to 15 years on average. Regular maintenance can extend its life. If you notice significant drops in performance, strange noises, or frequent malfunctions, consider a water pump or well pump replacement. Always get in touch with a professional if you're concerned about yCan I install a water pump myself?our pump's condition.
