Customers say: Quick response

"I had a bathroom and dining room ceiling painted. Both needed repairs prior to painting. John was really good and I would definitely use JP painting again. Both my bathroom and dining room ceiling looked great. He was neat, cleaned up completely and there were no surprise costs or issues in the end."

"Both rooms were painted the same color walls and ceiling. They over bought the paint and because we had no use for the TWO left over gallons, they kept them. We did NOT get a refund. We are disappointed in their practise. This was the second time we've used Precision Painting Plus. This left a bad feeling."

"Mr. Nunez and his team exceeded my expectations! I needed new stair railings ASAP due to my husband returning to home from a long-term hospitalization, and Nunez Construction & Painting came to my rescue, and had his crew at my home the very next morning! From the initial inquiry to the very end, Mr. Nunez answered each and every one of my inquiries and messages in a prompt and courteous manner and showed up exactly when he said he would, twice. His estimate was in line with the others that received, and very fair. The railings came out sturdy and beautiful, and the paint job was meticulous. Thank you, Mr. Nunez, for making a very stressful time in our lives so much easier! You are a true professional. I would not hesitate to hire Nunez Construction & Painting again, and would recommend them to any of my family and friends."

Painting questions, answered by experts

A dry lawn is easier to edge than a wet one. When your ground is wet, your blades will likely clump together, making a seemingly even cut while wet, but an uneven disaster when dried. Also, a wet lawn can impact your blade's performance and cause mud to kick up, resulting in a messy finish.

Yes, staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan, typically by five to 10 years. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it can still fall victim to moisture, sun exposure, and rot over time. Applying a treatment creates a protective shield that helps prevent splintering, fading, and decay, preserving the wood's strength and appearance. A combination stain and sealer often provides the best protection, as it soaks into the wood grain rather than just sitting on top. This offers superior defense against UV damage and rot and lasts longer than a sealer alone. To maintain the wood's natural look, consider using a near-translucent stain. You should plan to reapply the stain or sealer every two to three years.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.

A five-gallon bucket of deck stain will cover roughly 875 square feet in a single coat. Actual coverage will vary based on the type of wood you’re staining and the number of coats. If you plan on doing multiple coats, multiply the square footage by the number of coats to calculate how many buckets of stain you’ll need.

Opt for an interior wood stain that is rated for your type of wood. Consider your personal style preferences as well as the overall use of the room when choosing a color. Remember, the color you see at the store may look different on your actual floors once applied. This is why if you have the chance, it’s helpful to test a few options on a scrap piece of wood in the room first. Once you narrow it down, you can test a small patch on an inconspicuous area in the room to see it on the actual floors.
