"I have a mini split hvac system that suddenly stopped cooling my air. TLC came out, put a fluorescent material in the system to detect any leak in my stem. When the tech returned to see results, he looked in 2 of the 4 cassettes, advised me both were leaking, and any replacement was not compatible the existing condenser unit outside. This procedure costs me just short of $1000. The cost to replace the entire system would be about $22,000. I called another hvac company that replaced the 2 cassettes that TLC said were leaking (no compatible issues) and the system worked fine until again no cool air! The 2nd company returned and tested (previously untested units) the final 2 units and discovered a leak in one. At my request, they replaced the last 2units. My final cost was about $14,000. TLC should have reimbursed the cost of their misdiagnosis $1000. They not only misdiagnosed the issue, but lied about the compatibility of the new cassettes"

"I was a fan for years, but I'm so dissapointed now. After they didn't show up 3 appointments in a row in November, they finally came out and charged a huge amount for what they now call "a small fix." I had just left town long term when they fixed the furnace. I asked about the guarantee and by phone they said 1 year. I told them to go ahead since I was out of town and I trusted them. They replaced my programmable thermostat for a super cheap one that won't shut off. I only noticed now that I'm back here to see the work. The flame is on a full, high blast and the house is sweltering, it won't turn off. Tenants didn't notice during the winter but now it's been burning huge amounts of gas even though the thermostat has been off 2 months. Now Tony and Mike say it's only a 90-day guarantee "for such a small fix" which cost me $700. I'll have to pay weekend prices to have them fix their faulty work. I should have gone with the company my tenants found, the estimate was way lower. But I trusted Marathon and wanted them to do the work since I was out of town. They didn't stand by the warranty that the woman told me about on the phone and they will never have my business again."

"Really well....the guys were so respectful, informative ,and funny! And they determined the problem very quickly. They probably could've convinced us we needed a new pump (because thats what we thought was wrong), but fixed a faulty control box and replaced a couple of worn down parts...$200 as opposed to the $2599-$3000 for a new pump. Oh, and we also had overnight guests at the time and the guys fit us right in. Would hire them again in a minute (hopefully we won't have to for a while!!!)."

You can extend the life of your tank by scheduling a septic tank pumping every three to five years and being mindful about what you put down your drains and toilets. In short, human waste and toilet paper are the only things that should go into your septic tank.

A leaking well pipe is quite different from if the well itself is leaking. To seal a leaking well, pour a cement mixture or bentonite into the space between the well casing and the borehole wall. The heavier cement collects at the bottom to form a solid seal, pushing lighter materials like mud and fluids up toward the surface. If your septic tank is still within its expected lifespan and you need to relocate it on your property, it's possible to do so. However, because the task is so labor-intensive and costly, most homeowners simply choose to abandon the old tank if possible and install a new system in the new location.
