"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"THESE PEOPLE ARE GREAT. I just moved 15 months ago, so I had a reference between the wy it shouldn't be done and how Northstar did it. I felt absolutely comfortable every step of the wy because of their professionalism. They came to my place and provided a fixed price move, which was in the middle of the four quotes I got, and the only one were someone visited me. The people that picked my furniture up were ON-TIME, professional, and wrapped everything in a way to assure no damage. Same on the delivery, ON-TIME, professional, and cleaned up. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

Movers know the best way to pack different items to protect them during a move and make the most of the space in a moving truck. You can pack your belongings to save money, but there’s a higher risk of damage.

Moving a washer and dryer can be difficult due to the appliances’ weight and size. If you need to move these appliances up or down stairs, then it will be more challenging. It also depends on the type of dryer you have, as a gas dryer is more complicated to disconnect than an electric dryer. The difficulty of the task also depends on whether you’re easily wheeling the washer and dryer up a moving truck’s loading ramp or lifting them yourself.

When loading a moving truck, the general rule is to load the heaviest and largest items first to create a stable base at the front of the truck, which helps balance the weight. You can start with large furniture like sofas, beds, mattresses, and tables to form a solid foundation, or begin by placing your heaviest boxes against the truck's walls to create a base layer. After the base is set, continue loading other large items like appliances and square furniture. Lighter and smaller objects, including most of your boxes, should be loaded last. They can be packed into gaps, around, and on top of the heavier items to maximize space. Following this order makes unloading easier and helps prevent damage to your belongings.

The ideal budget for moving out of state largely depends on your location, the number of rooms you need to move, and how far your final destination is. On average, homeowners spend a little over $1,700 on their move.

The first step in moving a house is to provide blueprints and assess which parts of the house you can move. The next steps are obtaining permits, inspecting the structure, securing road permits, and getting bank approval.

When it's time to move, professionals can prepare the house by disconnecting utilities, removing items, and adding support braces. The house is then lifted with steel beams, jacked up, and placed on dollies for transport. Once it’s at the new location, it gets lowered onto the new foundation, utilities get reconnected, and additional features, like porches or garages, are added.
