"I needed an Electrician for our Den Addition and Abq Electrical Works was very fast to respond with a fair priced quote. James ran the cables and boxes neatly during the initial phase. When it was ready he installed 2 ceiling fans, 4 can lights around 10 outlets, the switches and everything worked first try."

"The estimate was very expensive to install a single overhead lighting fixture (at about 12 feet overhead) but the technician was very efficient at getting the fixture installed correctly and, in the end, it was worth it to me NOT to have to climb a 12-foot ladder, risking life and limb. Itâ s a trade off I expect."

Small jobs welcome

"DC LLC/Chris McDaniel did an outstanding job for NNMC's El Rito Campus. They pulled electricity to our greenhouse and installed irrigation systems at both the greenhouse and our rain gardens. From start to finish, their work was top-notch ? knowledgeable, professional, and thorough. What really set them apart was how well they worked with our facilities team and how they kept communication open throughout the entire project. Chris genuinely cares about the quality of his work and it shows. They were helpful, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend DC LLC for anyone looking for a reliable, skilled contractor. We couldn't have asked for a better experience."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Installing a home generator system in Albuquerque offers immediate backup power during outages, keeping your HVAC, food storage, and medical devices running. Over time, a standby generator can make your property more attractive to buyers, especially in neighborhoods prone to power interruptions. With Albuquerque’s wildfire risks and utility shutoffs, having a generator also helps protect your home’s comfort and safety year-round.

Helpful?

Albuquerque’s climate—with its hot summers, monsoon storms, and strong spring winds—requires generators built for temperature extremes and UV exposure. Installations should be scheduled outside peak storm and winter months to minimize weather delays. Secure mounting is essential to withstand wind gusts, and proper drainage helps prevent water damage during heavy rains. Planning for wildfire season ensures your backup power is reliable when outages are most likely.

Helpful?

In Albuquerque, generator installation projects typically take six to twelve weeks. This timeline includes permitting, equipment delivery, and installation. Delays may occur if your home needs utility upgrades or if you’re installing a natural gas line. Planning ahead for seasonal weather and coordinating with local utility providers can help ensure your backup power solution is ready when you need it most.

Helpful?

Your Albuquerque home is a strong candidate for generator installation if you have access to natural gas or propane, sufficient yard space for safe placement, and an electrical panel that supports an automatic transfer switch. Homes in areas with frequent outages or those relying on critical equipment benefit most. Always check for HOA rules, local soil stability, and easy access for fuel and electrical connections before starting your project.

Helpful?

For generator installation in Albuquerque, select a natural gas or propane emergency generator based on your available fuel source. Use enclosures made from aluminum or galvanized steel to withstand intense sun and wind. Opt for UV-resistant electrical conduits and install the generator on a concrete pad with proper drainage. All mounting hardware should be corrosion-resistant and rated for Albuquerque’s unique climate and wind conditions.
