"The concrete driveway at my home was about 40 years old and had been breaking up for the last decade or so. I knew I had to replace it but I was concerned that doing so would damage the sewer and gas lines that run under the driveway. Then I noticed that Mountain Side was doing some of my neighbors drives so I spoke to them about my concerns. They assured me they could do the work without disturbing the underground utilities. They removed the old concrete WITHOUT using a jackhammer. Safer on the utilities and quieter. I then stress tested my sewer line by filling 2 bath tubs and started them draining them, at the same time I flushed 3 toilets and turned on every faucet in the house. No backup. They then put down some rebar (the old drive did not have rebar) and poured the new drive the next day. I now have a new attractive driveway that my granddaughters can use as a canvas for their chalk art. COST: I checked several other contractors and Mountain Side was on the low side of the average. WORKMANSHIP: Excellent Practically a work of art. CREW: Professional and courteous. They knew what they were supposed to do and did it. NEATNESS: Excellent All construction debris was removed and landscaping on the side of the drive replaced neatly. OVERALL IMPRESSION: Very pleased with the outcome."

"Work started on time and was completed in 6.5 hours, including cleanup. The work crew performing the work was extremely professional and cleaned up and the work progressed. Jerome is very good about explaining the process and when things will occur. We've used Alliance before for a patio, patio cover and new driveway. We're very happy with how the work is performed and the finished product. Great to work with!"

"Vince met with us several times at our home to help design and plan a large landscape project.  Due to scheduling conflicts we were unable to give the job to Streaming Visions.  However, we would highly recommend Vince for any landscape project because he is easy to work with, very professional and knowledgeable, patient, reasonably priced and honest.

"I hired AZR after watching them do a landscape for one of my neighbors. They came in with a very reasonable price. Workers showed up on time and worked hard all day! They cleaned up after themselves daily. When digging a fountain up for repair, they moved all construction material and dirt into a paved work area and didn't mess up my lawn. Terrific Job! I am fully satisfied and hired them for a second job."

Customers say: True professional

"The team was here when they said they would be and were always polite and professional and answered any questions that I had. The job took roughly four days to complete. After a few days I noticed a couple issue towards the end of the driveway so I contacted them and they came out to assess the issue and agreed they would address my concerns. I am very very pleased with the service and professionalism of this company. They made sure each day they left that my property was clean and tidy from their days work. This company is quite busy however it is well worth the wait to have them do your concrete work."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

In Albuquerque, a standard residential driveway project takes about one to two days. However, scheduling is key, as the July-September monsoon season can cause significant delays. The area's high elevation may also slightly extend curing times. It's important to factor in the three to five business days needed for city permit processing before any work can begin, with the best paving window being April through October.

Helpful?

When hiring asphalt paving professionals in Albuquerque, prioritize contractors with experience in local soil and weather conditions. Ensure they carry proper insurance and bonding, and ask for references from recent projects in the area. Look for specialists who use high-quality materials designed for UV resistance and provide clear, written estimates. Comparing multiple quotes and understanding the scope of asphalt resurfacing or repair options will help you make an informed choice.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Albuquerque often balance initial investment against long-term durability. A key decision is asphalt thickness, as a 3-inch layer offers better longevity than a 2-inch one. Another trade-off involves creating a proper slope for monsoon runoff versus achieving a perfectly flat aesthetic. Choosing a polymer-modified asphalt improves performance in extreme temperatures but is a larger upfront investment compared to standard mixes.

Helpful?

In Albuquerque, most residential asphalt paving or resurfacing projects take between one and three days, depending on driveway size and site preparation needs. Larger or more intricate jobs may require up to five days. Commercial projects often extend to a week or more. Weather conditions and permit processing can impact timelines, and it’s best to allow 24–48 hours for the new surface to cure before regular use.

Helpful?

In Albuquerque, alligator cracking is a critical sign that indicates base failure and requires immediate attention. Also, watch for standing water after a rainstorm, as this points to poor drainage that will worsen over time. Edge deterioration, often accelerated by monsoon runoff, can quickly undermine the entire surface. Any soft spots or rutting in wheel paths suggest the underlying structure is compromised and needs professional assessment.
