"For over 20 years my wife and I used another A rated Angie’s List heating and air conditioning firm and we have given them good reviews in the past. Recently our 20+ year old heater started acting up. At times throughout the day or night the burner wouldn’t ignite and we would be without heat. After seven service calls and various parts at the cost of $700.00 our old service company could not repair the heater and the problem remained unresolved. So we decided to get estimates to replace our entire HVAC system mainly due to it’s age and this unsolved problem. Vaughan Heating and Air Conditioning was on our list of acceptable companies to speak with due to their Angie’s List A rating. We called Vaughan and they sent Tony Pellegrino to our home the next day. My wife and I were very impressed with Tony. He spent over an hour at our home scoping out our basement, configuring our new system and answering our questions. Later that day we received the Vaughan estimate that Tony sent by email. I called Tony and he spent another hour on the phone addressing my questions and concerns. We received the other competitor's estimates over the next two days. We accepted the Vaughan’s estimate which was $1,100.00 more then the lowest estimate and $2,500.00 less then the highest estimate we received. Our choice was based on our comfort level with Tony, the price of the job, the longevity of the company (established in 1937) and the quality of the heating and air conditioning units that Vaughan installs. We accepted the Vaughan estimate on Saturday evening and Tony scheduled our job that coming week on Tuesday (for the heater) and Thursday (for the air conditioner). The reason for the one day in between work was because they squeezed our job into an already full week of installations and we were really pleased that they did that for us. On Tuesday morning at 8:30am the installer’s, Marcus and Jeff were at our house ready to start the job. These guys were friendly, professional, extremely competent and also very neat and clean, covering our rugs, etc. Jeff and Marcus did and exceptional job installing our new HVAC system. It’s “state of the art”! My wife and I are extremely happy with the job Vaughan Heating & Air Conditioning did and we could not be more comfortable, then we are now, in our home. "We had an excellent experience working with Hutchinson. We called Hutchinson for an estimate to replace our water heater after Lowes gave us the run-around and an expensive quote that included unnecessary parts. A Hutchinson sales rep (Joe) came out the next day. He was on time (to the minute), well versed in water heaters, boilers and AC units, and very knowledgeable about the equipment that Hutchinson offered and the Energy Star programs offered by the state of NJ. He was informative and not pushy. We mentioned that we were also interested in replacing our boiler in the next few years and Joe gave us information about simply replacing the water heater + about replacing the water heater and boiler at the same time thru the NJ Energy Star Program (an expensive upfront cost but well worth it in the long term). We went with the Energy Star program, which included air sealing our house, installing extra instillation in the attic and basement, a 95% efficient boiler with a water heater attached. With the program, Hutchinson takes care of all labor and includes a 2 year service contract the includes all parts and labor. It was about 18,000, but we qualified for a $5,000 immediate rebate from the State of NJ, which knocked the cost down to $13,000 for us. Still very expensive, but the State of NJ is offering a 10 year inerest free loan thru the program. On average, people save $83 a month on their gas bills when installing this equipment, which is actually the monthly payment amount for the loan (on purpose). Therefore, (in the long term) this equipment will actually only cost us $3,000 in total.
Hutchinson was on time for instillation. We were under the impression that the project would take 1 day, but it quickly turned into 3 days, which was a slight inconvenience but glad the job was done correctly. Cleaned up after the job 100%. Everyone that we worked with at Hutchinson was friendly, respectfull, courtious, and knowledge."
