"I call fresh air flow with a heating problem that I have the day before that freezing storm, Ben was very kind and professional and send me a team right away with a high priority! They try to repair my old one, but itâ s more than 60 years old and there was no way to do that so before the holiday and the storm he he prioritize my new boiler to be installed. I got an update by text message, every step of the way and fully communicate with the professional technicians, the price was more than excellent and affordable and more important, the service was excellent. "The Botte crew were incredible! There arenâ t enough superlatives to describe the awesome job they did for us replacing our ductless system. It was a big job! We had 4 quotes and theirs was the lowest, but we didnâ t just choose them because of that. They were responsive and professional. One quote was $8,000 higher and they were going to take over a week to install. Botte did it in 2 1/2 days. They were polite, friendly, and professional. Cleaned up before they left each time and the results speak for themselves. I couldnâ t recommend them more highly! Tom D."

"Keith was quick in responding to my request for a replacement hot water heater. He came to the house and gave me an estimate from the purchase of the unit to the installation. He ordered the unit and we scheduled an appointment once the unit was available - just a matter of days. Aaron and Travis did the installation and were courteous, knowledgeable and professional and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend Blue Boxer Plumbing and will definitely use them in the future if needed."

"After buying a new refrigerator, Home Depot told me I needed a plumber to run a new water line to the refrigerator. I was not happy with the Home Depot tech that called me. The plumber, Dave, arrived soon after I called Harris and did a phenomenal job! He was friendly, professional and worked quickly. Thank you, Dave, and Harris Plumbing!!"

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

DIY is not recommended due to safety risks and technical expertise required. Hire licensed professionals.

Boiler installations and replacements cost between $3,600 to $8,400. Expect to pay around $5,900 on average for a new boiler, including installation. Adding new radiators or heaters to the boiler may include separate costs if you are also upgrading those components, so the final price may be higher. To decrease costs, you can look for local energy rebates for using a boiler and wait until installers are offering discounts for a first-time installation.

If you have a closed-system boiler that requires an expansion tank, you cannot safely operate it without one, as this risks extensive damage or even explosions. You must find a way to make room for the installation. Options include repositioning the boiler, rerouting the boiler piping to a more open area, or performing minor remodeling to create the necessary space. If you are unsure whether your boiler needs an expansion tank or how to best accommodate one, it's recommended to have a local heating service professional assess the situation. They can confirm the requirement and suggest the most practical solution.

The cost of propane and related services varies depending on tank size and location but generally ranges from $500 to $2,500 for installation and initial fill.

There are several types of home radiators, and the most common are steam heat radiators, electric radiators, and dual-fuel radiators. Steam heat radiators are connected to a boiler. Electric radiators can operate without being connected to anything else—they just need an electrical outlet. If you have a dual-fuel radiator, you’ll see a valve at the bottom of the system with a wire coming out of it and going into a wall. These are often your towel radiators in the bathroom. The type of radiator you have will impact how you turn it on.
