"We found CLIMATE MECHANICS from their stellar reviews while searching for a knowledgeable and competent HVAC company. For years, we were dealing with a condensation problem with our LG mini split air conditioner, and no one could find the source of the problem. We can honestly say that we've never experienced a company like CLIMATE MECHANICS so committed to making things right. Nate, the awesome climate mechanic that came to our home, and Robert, the owner of the company, could understandably have walked away because they did not install the system and were not responsible for the problem. Nate worked for hours trying to locate the problem. In the end, after so many years of leaking, CLIMATE MECHANICS went above and beyond and resolved our ongoing problem. Toni, their wonderful contact person, told us repeatedly that Robert just wanted us to be happy in the end. And we are. Totally. Thank you Robert, Nate and Toni."

"We use Laury for repair and maintenance of our heating and cooling units for our rental properties and each time we need something done, the staff at Laury never cease to provide quality service. The technicians are always knowledgeable, thorough, courteous and pleasant. We recently had an HVAC system installed in one of our units and the home is rather large and is over 100 years old and there was not a whole lot of empty space to work with. The guys at Laury were able to install the system and all of the duct work and components involved neatly with the age and make-up of the home in-mind. They were pleasant throughout the entire installation which took almost a week. They were always on time and always communicated the process with us. Laury is a trusted business with many years of experience behind them. Prices are also extremely reasonable given the cost of services right now. Warren you are the man!"

"Clay's is without a doubt the best HVAC contractor in the area.  Estimate was provided by Clay and he spent about an hour at my home going over the details of the job during the visit.  I can be somewhat of a demanding customer and Clay was patient, courteous, and professional when it came to answering all my questions and discussing the details of job.
The job in my home was a pretty significant undertaking particularly since it was a retrofit (i.e. NOT new contruction), a complete tear out and replacement of the existing equipment, and some things were being relocated to other areas of the home.  On the first day of the job Clay and his foreman did a walkthrough of the job with me.  Due to scheduling and weather issues it was two months from time of estimate to job start and surprisingly Clay remembered every detail of my home and the job!  On the first day of work, tear out day, there were no less than 7 workers present to complete the task.  That's serious commitment to getting the job done!  The job required access to every area of my home...attic, crawlspace, and all living spaces.  We were without heat for the first three days of the install and Clay's left us with 4 electric space heaters which surprisingly kept the house quite comfortable.  After each work day the crew would clean their work area and the parts of the home they accessed.  My wife would comment each night when she returned form work that you couldn't even tell they had been there.  Work crews promptly arrived at my home at 7AM each day and departed between 3-4PM depending on what they needed to finish up.
Would like to also mention that I have had some interaction with the service team (Mike and Matt) to install an upgraded control board and complete system start-up in the spring.  The service dept. is just as good as the installation team!
Bottom line:  high quality installation, professional service both pre and post installation, courteous and respectful employees, and Clay's delivered on everything agreed upon in our contract.  While the cost of our particular installation was high that was largely a function of the scope of work and quality of equipment purchased.  Clay's wasn't the lowest bid but their estimate was perfectly reasonable.  As they say, you get what you pay for.  Don't undervalue the quality of any HVAC installation because that matters most.  Just a general FYI our old AC unit was 35 years old (i.e. very inefficient) and ducting in our home was terrible.  Electric costs to cool our 2,400 sq ft home in the summer used to run $300-$400.  As installed, the new system is approximately 14-14.5 SEER and that has translated into a $100-200 monthly savings on our electric bill.

"I was in the need to replace my old hvac system that was 25 years old. While doing research online for the best system, I found the most advice would be to find the local heating and AC contractors that are knowledgeable and trustworthy to do the installation. I was worried if I would be able to find one, but that thought was gone when Nate came out to give the free estimate. He spent more than an hour to explain to me the options, or any question I had in mind (& believe me, I had plenty). I told him that I'd rather have the extra vents/pipes running through the attic to hide away from the view. Without hesitation, he asked for the access to the attic and squeezed himself through the hot attic to find the possibility. Throughout the process, he was very informative and knowledgeable, and promptly responded to any additional questions I had without pressuring me into making an immediate decision. It means a lot having someone that actually provides you true advice and even offers to have you do your own research prior to hire their service. Nate talked highly toward the business's owner who always want to run his business in the most honest way. I had the 2nd quote from another competitive company, and even that one provided a 5 years option for financing with 0% interest, I still quickly decided to chose CM over it because of their honesty and their willing to go an extra mile to do the job. Their price is also very reasonable and competitive. On the day of the installation (7/5/2017), Nate & Collin arrived at 7:30AM, laying tarp over rugs and floor prior starting their work. Later, Nate informed me that there would be two more technicians (Ed P, Ed Q) to help getting the job done quicker. They were all polite, put on slipper covers for their shoes, and even asked for my permission prior to going upstairs for measurement of any room for tax-refund paper-works. One of the trim from the attic's door was masked down & broken previously & Ed initiated to fix it up all nice and workable without me asking for it. The installation went very smoothly, all the vents/pipes were hiden way in the attic, and all the work spaces were cleaned up after they were finished. Nate briefed me how to maintain the system as well before he left. I normally don't write review, but with the service they provided, I feel they deserve to be known and recognized. I highly recommend Climate Mechanics LLC. for their service and honesty. It's so refreshing to find people that care about their customers and their business. Hopefully, I won't have to worry my hvac system for a long, long time, but if there is a problem, I know I can count on them."

"Both Brian and Brian arrived at my home on time. They started with the air duct cleaning, and since my house has centralized heating and air conditioning, they started with the HVAC unit. In addition to their punctuality, I was impressed by the quality and speed of their work. For instance, even though the estimated time frame for the work was 5 hours, the actual length to do this work turned out to be less than 3 hours. In addition, they were very knowledgeable, thorough, helpful, and professional. I would highly consider hiring them for this type of work again."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, through thorough cleaning and inspection, optimizing functionality, and reducing energy use.

AC capacitors have a wide lifespan, ranging from five to 20 years, with an average of about 10 years. Many capacitors will last for the entire life of the air conditioning unit, and most homeowners only need to replace one once. A capacitor should only be replaced if an HVAC professional diagnoses a problem with it. Premature failure can be caused by overheating, power surges, or short circuits. You can help extend the life of your AC capacitor by scheduling regular AC maintenance each year.

This is a bit of a trick question. Even though the seasons arrive at the same time every year, the weather doesn’t always behave according to the calendar. So, while it’s fair to say that you can expect to turn on your AC starting in late May or early June, it all depends on the outside temperature and how cool you like to keep your home.

The general rule of thumb for figuring out how much AC tonnage you need in your home is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of space you need to cool, you’ll need one ton of AC cooling power. So, a 1,000-square-foot home will need 2 tons of AC power.

Freon will go in the refrigerant lines near the back of your AC unit. Look for small ports with caps on a thin copper line—the Freon goes into those ports. You are best off hiring a licensed HVAC professional who can complete the job safely and correctly.
