"I had a tile floor installed in my kitchen and it looks great! Vincent did an excellent job, he’s professional, courteous and very conscientious about his work. He does the job the right way, doesn’t cut corners, shows up on time and cleans up at the end of each day. And I will definitely hire again to install the backsplash. His price was competitive and he’s a good guy."

"Cesar and his team did an excellent job on a complicated kitchen remodel. They removed and replaced a tile floor and backsplash, installed appliances including an integrated refrigerator, installed sink, removed wallpaper and painted, put in new molding, and some electrical upgrades. Recommended the countertop contractor who was excellent. (Thanks Michael). Cesar was great to work with. He and his crew were careful, clean and considerate. They kept our kitchen usable as much as possible. And, they put in extra effort to have the job done in time for Christmas. We've already got projects in mind for him in the near future. Definitely recommended."

Customers say: Super punctual

"I don't usually write reviews, but I wanted to recommend Tom to anyone looking to have tile work done in their home. Tom installed a ceramic backsplash in my kitchen and I'm so pleased with the job. Tom is a true professional with excellent work ethics. He arrived at my house on time, at 8:00, and didn't leave until the job was complete. The finished backsplash looks fantastic and its exactly as the picture I showed him. I couldn't be happier with Tom's work. I would not hesitate to use him again. Thanks again Tom!"

"Roven took the time to explain the process and the details involved in installing Belgium blocks along my driveway and a flower bed nearby that was edged with old, crumbling concrete. He extended the walkway to my front door with stone tile and at a reasonable cost. The end result met my expectations and I will use this company again for other projects."

"We hired this company for a small bathroom; taking up the existing tile and installing new tile. Absolutely a pleasure to work with and the work itself was excellent. Punctual, very clean, meticulous and reasonably priced. “Precise” is a perfect name for them! Couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

For glass tile, you want to use unsanded grout. Sanded grout is a stronger and grittier cement grout that is great for installing tiles with wider gaps and into joints. However, it is susceptible to scratching glass tile and is more difficult to use in thinner gaps. Unsanded grout, while more expensive, is easier to fit between thin gaps and is less harsh on delicate materials, like glass tile.

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.

Yes, it’s possible to cut tile without a wet saw; instead, you can use an angle grinder, a glass cutter, a snap cutter, tile nippers, or a rotary tool with a tile-cutting blade. A manual tile cutter or snap cutter works well for the larger tiles that wet saws are typically used for, while smaller projects might just require nippers or a glass cutting wheel. If you’re working with large quantities of tile, however, power tools are best.

If you want your ceramic tiles to be evenly spaced and installation to take less time, spacers are a crucial part of the installation process.
