"I can’t say enough good things about Tomahawk Flooring. Richard and his father were knowledgeable, skilled, professional and quick to respond whenever I had a question. They installed laminate flooring in seven rooms of our house including two bathrooms and did a great job. The floor looks wonderful. I highly recommend them."

"As a Property Manager, I can not think of a flooring contractor I would recommend more than Minuteman Floors. While in a time crunch and running out of viable options, the owner, Stephan , showed up on time, gave an honest and reasonable estimate, and had his guys finishing carpeting in our Offices less than 24 Hrs after initial meeting. His crew was polite, respectful, and hard working. Thank you again for going above and beyond!"

Customers say: Terrific value

"I am most pleased with the quality of work, the excellent communication, the follow thru on commitments and the schedule kept. This flooring of about 900 sq.ft.and rebuilding of two stair ways had to be done in twp phases and at my request it required several return visits over a period of weeks. Ron made it easy for me to schedule the other trades so my entire kitchen and family room renovation project went smoothly... Also ----The "Ron Wilson and Son Hardwood Floors" price was very fair and reasonable.-----Thank You Ron"

"Steve and his team gave us an quote that was hard to refuse. So just in case I checked a couple references who gave glowing reviews. And work commenced fairly soon thereafter and I couldn't be happier! The floors look amazing! They did a great job, kept the house clean (though we & they had it easy because it was empty.) The only downside was they showed up 15 minutes late, but the work was solid â  and I'd recommend them to anyone looking to get hardwood floors refinished, want stunning results, and look for value."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

A 65-oz. carpet is good, and in many cases, it indicates a premium carpet. Most carpets for homes should fall in the range of 40 to 60 ounces for face weight. If a carpet has a 65-oz. face weight, it is likely more durable and long-lasting than a similar carpet with a lower face weight. Carpet face weight is just one factor in determining a carpet’s quality.

Vinyl floors last between 10 and 25 years on average when you care for them and protect them against water damage, though higher-quality vinyl can last longer.

If your vinyl flooring has heavy wear and tear or if it's peeling, it's a good time to do a reinstallation. Other signs your flooring is nearing the end of its lifespan include bubbling, heat-damaged planks or tiles, and discoloration.

Although hardwood floors have a costly upfront expense, most homeowners find them to be worth the investment. They are incredibly durable and can last for decades with proper maintenance. Hardwood floors can also provide a high return on investment (ROI)—up to 118% on average—and add significant value and appeal to your home. Additionally, because they are easy to keep free of dust, pollen, and pet dander, they can sometimes help alleviate allergies for household members.

The average cost to install an epoxy garage floor is $2,514, with typical projects ranging from $750 to over $5,716. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $12. Several factors influence the total cost, including the total square footage, required surface preparations, the type and thickness of the epoxy, design complexity, decorative options, and labor costs. For example, an epoxy floor for a one-car garage may cost between $720 and $2,900, while a two-car garage can range from $1,100 to $4,300. Adding decorative elements like flakes can cost about $10 per 250-pound bag, and choosing a metallic epoxy can increase the price to between $5 and $12 per square foot. With proper care and maintenance, a well-installed epoxy floor can last for 10 to 20 years.

Carpeting has a few benefits on stairs in addition to being a cost-effective floor covering. It absorbs sound, dampening footsteps. It also provides additional traction, which is especially important if you install linoleum floors, epoxy flooring, or any other floor covering that can become slippery if you’re wearing socks. Therefore, carpets can help prevent slips.
