One line item on the receipt is $470 for the kit they use to replace the plastic mechanism inside the water tank. I casually google the kit, I can get a universal sup kit for the toilet to replace that for $20. I called them, manager came on gave me that talk - we did hundreds of toilet leak and we average all of them to come up with the cost for that line item, which includes (a) parts (b) labor (c) our service guarantee for a prompt and reliable service Say they charge $200 /hr labor, 1 hr for two toilet is $100 labor for 1 toilet (remember, the plumber was there like 30-45 min rebuilding the two toilet). Say total parts are $100 (with markup), we are talking about $200 for fixing the leak of 1 toilet. They charged almost $600 for one toilet. You can do that math. I expect some up charge, but I am not paying $300 just for getting prompt reliable service. I turned around and asked for a few reliable plumber quote from Thumbstack with great reviews, most can do the job for $200 labor and I can get them the universal kit they will be able to come on the same day. So maybe if you want Milltown to do bigger job, that is ok. For smaller job, it does not worth it. Replacing the toilet flush mechanism is really not rocket science in plumbing. If I am not thousands of miles away, I would have done it myself after watching some Youtube video. I am willing to pay up charge for the service, but this is really above and beyond the normal up charge range, $1200 for a 30 min job replacing the toilet flushing mechanism in the water tank!!"

"Before installing a mini-split, the sales person told me that I'd need to cut down an interior shelf to a specific height. I paid a handyman $400 to do exactly what the sales person instructed. Later on, N.E.T.R. came and did the installation; however, AFTER the installation, a technician told me that they hadn't accounted for the vent opening and closing and that the shelf would need to be further cut down. As you can imagine, this type of service is rather ridiculous. If they knew that the shelf would need further cutting, they should have NOT installed the unit. I have called N.E.T.R. six (6) times in three weeks, and no one has called me back about this issue. After paying for the unit and for a handyman, it's ridiculous that I have AC that is compromised because no one with the company thought to properly measure the space so that the work by the handyman could be done once. At this point, I'd like for N.E.T.R. to take care of this for me."

Cost of the repair was quite high, mainly due to very high price they charged for the pump. A Taco pump that I could buy for $175 was priced on this repair at more than $500. I get that it was an urgent situation and I’m happy to pay reasonably for the response but that mark-up bothered me.
