Insul Kings is a fully licensed and insured weatherization contractor specializing in weatherization work (adding insulation to home), energy audits, whole house air-sealing, and the installation of various types of insulation for both commercial and residential projects. We are a proud partner of Mass Save & NH Save and are rated in the top 5% of their contractor scoring.

"Insul-Kings is wonderful to work with. They called in the morning to narrow the arrival time, which is very considerate. Nate and his crew arrived on time and CRANKED like a well oiled machine. I have a 4' crawl space. You can barely crouch. No problem! That's why God invented knee pads. They foamed and installed the insulation like it was their own home. It was a work of art. and came out better than I imagined. They patiently indulged my "old man" inquisitiveness. The crew represented Insul-Kings very well. I highly recommend them. This was done through the Mass Save program. So the $2100 job only cost me about $500.00"

If it has to do with walls or ceilings - we do and do it well. From frame to finish. Check out our web site to see examples of our work : www.charliesdrywallandpainting.com Hear what our customers are saying and contact us to come and see you project.

"After dealing with many disappointing contractors/handymen, Charlie & Richard were a (shocking) breath of fresh air and worth every penny. This company takes pride in their work and these two men truly want to do the best job for their customers in the long run. They do not cut corners at all and have extreme attention to detail. From the beginning, Charlie was organized, responsive and detailed in his quote. Over the course of 2 weeks, Richard and Charlie were consistently punctual and took great care to be respectful of our home (always used drop cloths everywhere they walked, swept/cleaned up after themselves daily & used the proper machines/filters so dust wouldn’t end up all over our house). The painting and drywall repair came out beautiful! I only wish I found this company sooner, but we will definitely be hiring Charlie & Richard again!"

"Highly recommend Express Roofing! Mike and Nick were always very responsive and answered all of my questions. Felix and his crew did an outstanding and high-quality job on the roof and the cleanup. The estimate was significantly lower than the others I received, and even though we had a lot of plywood to replace, the final cost was still lower than the others! Have already recommended them to family members."

JP Pest Services has been providing pest management solutions for New England homes and businesses since 1925. We’ve learned a lot about our Northeast customer base over the past 9 decades like what they expect from the effectiveness of our services to what they need from our Customer Service Representatives and Service Professionals in the field.

"Joel their sales rep assured us our apartments would be rotated so the inside of each unit was checked at least every six months. Got the bait and switch bc they never did this and we had a cockroach infestation that went on for a year. They lied to me and then their manager claimed “we don’t see it in the contract”. I want a refund. You’ve been doing nothing productive. I can lay my own ant traps for less than $2k a year."

Dolphin Insulation has completely changed the traditional approach to insulating homes with our very unique processes and materials installed by highly skilled specialists. Ultimately, we create for homeowners the perfect indoor, all-season climate for them no matter how hot, cold, or even noisy it is outside. Our customers tell us their entire living experience in their home has been improved 100% after we insulate.

"We cannot say enough good things about Dolphin Insulation. They replaced the existing insulation in our entire house and addressed some mold related issues we came across along the way. We are delighted with the results. Our house is much tighter and drafts we used to feel are gone. The whole process took about 2 weeks, including removing the old insulation, prepping and blowing in the new insulation. We are talking about the roof over a bedroom over a double garage, the main house and the cathedral ceiling for a family room. Go to their website and see some of the projects they have tackled. What you see is what you get. From our very first contact right through the installation process everyone we came into contact with was professional, informative and very helpful. Dolphin was upfront on their timing for the project, in what was their busiest time of the year, and called us ahead of time to let us know they were running a day or two late. All the crew who came to our house throughout the process were polite, friendly, hardworking and took the time to answer any questions we had. They were flexible and worked around other contractors who were in our house at the same time. Dolphin adapted to issues that cropped which resulted in more work that they took on. Every day they cleaned up after themselves as best they could. Amanda, the owner, even stopped by towards the end to bring over some parts they need to protect lights in our family room. It is also clear everyone believes in the technology they use, and that what they do is more than just a job for the crew. As far as we are concerned this is the best and greenest insulation solution out there. It takes time to install but it is well worth it. No toxic fumes and you don't have to move out of your house. This is not the cheapest solution you can come across but it is worth every penny."

"We can’t say enough good things about Celio Prado Painting. For a very reasonable price, Douglas’s crew safely removed nearly all of the flaking lead paint from our house and repainted, as well as painting the garage. Douglas’s crew was very hardworking, efficient, and friendly. They really went above and beyond, too: for example, we had a loose clapboard where a cable runs into the house, and they reattached it. They also stripped the lead paint from the interior of our back vestibule for us, even though it isn’t technically part of the exterior, without charging us extra for it. We’ve gotten a lot of positive feecback from neighbors, commenting both on how beautiful the paint job is and how friendly the crew was."

Today, historic restoration of homes must involve solving the challenge of rising heating/cooling costs and frustrating drafts and noise pollution. The mission at FPP & theweatherstrip.com is to provide the homeowner a lower cost and historically sensitive alternative to expensive replacement strategies. Historic restoration and energy conservation are not mutually exclusive. We welcome the opportunity of introducing our services to you. "Stay warm, Be cool…"

"Fred and his small, family-run team carefully removed, dipped, stripped and completely restored all the amazing original windows in our home. The windows were falling apart from decades of neglect when we bought our house a few years ago. We debated replacing them, but each sash has three panes of stained glass above two panes of clear glass, much of that original (probably cylinder glass). Also, the five windows on the first floor are over six feet tall, with the windows on the second floor maybe a foot shorter. Point being, any new window would have to be custom made, and it is highly unlikely we could find, let alone afford, a carpenter to custom design and build fourteen huge, double sash windows with stained glass. So I found Fred off a Google search. He came to see the windows and his enthusiasm for the windows' craftsmanship and confidence that he could restore them, and that full restoration would cost a fraction of replacement, won us over immediately. Fred clearly explained his process and our options and sent various estimates so we could decide what we wanted to do. Our windows are amazing. The sash chains are all new and work without issue. All the old, chipped, falling apart glaze is gone and replaced. And the wood is the best part. Many of the windows were literally falling part from dry rot. Thanks to the skillful application of epoxy and stain, the windows shine. Fred answered all our questions, recommended a great place for window hardware, and did excellent work on the windows and jambs. Full restoration can easily take two months. Fred has a small operation, does high quality work, and is in high demand. Be patient and you won't be disappointed."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

When installing metal siding, a high-quality house wrap is considered the best protection against condensation and moisture infiltration. House wraps can increase a home's efficiency significantly. However, a house wrap is not a replacement for a vapor barrier because it can be permeable when moist air passes through siding. This is why it's essential to follow manufacturer instructions for insulating siding when installing new siding.

The level of insulation is determined by both the material and the thickness of the door. Some garage door materials (such as wood) have natural insulating capabilities, while other materials (such as metal) do not. No matter the material, two-layer and three-layer garage doors have a higher R-value than single-layer garage doors, as insulation is fitted between the panels.

R-value stands for resistance value and is a number assigned to insulation that states how good the insulation is at heat transference (insulation). The R-value of injection foam is around 4 which homeowners will be happy to know is actually quite good. Another benefit of injection foam versus fiberglass foam is that the colder it gets, the more injection foam retains its resistance properties, whereas fiberglass tends to lose its efficiency in colder temperatures.

Yes, insulating hot water pipes helps your system run more efficiently. This is especially true in basements in colder climates, where cold air likes to settle in. There are a few ways to insulate water pipes (foam is common) to keep hot water hot, reducing the need for your water heater to constantly heat the water in the tank or your circulator to kick on more than necessary.

For a truly DIY solution to protect your outdoor faucets from freezing, you can craft your own faucet sock out of spare rags, plastic shopping bags, and duct tape—but this method might not be as effective (or attractive) as store-bought. If you choose to DIY your own outdoor faucet cover, be aware that rags, old towels, and other fabric you might use to wrap the faucet can absorb water like a sponge and could cause problems if it freezes.
