"Daniel was right on time and very professional. He went to work immediately upon arrival, explained exactly what he was going to do and asked if I had any questions. His work appeared to be very professional. I would recommend The Groutsmith company, and Daniel, as a very good grout and tile cleaning and restoration service."

"We hired Elmer and his team to refinish our white porcelain farmhouse sink, which had micro-cracks, and to change the color to matte black. Elmer’s crew did an excellent job—the sink looks brand new."

"From the initial contact; the response was quick, timely and the quote was very reasonable. The day of installation, we were instructed to hang plastic to prevent dust from the quartz cut . The crew were professional , very respectful and knowledgeable. The craftsmanship and skill set was very impressive. I would highly recommend them to my friends. If I ever need future stone / tile work I will definitely call upon them again. Excellent work ! They made my dream and vision for my kitchen come true ! Thank you!"

"Andrew and Tim went above and beyond during my tile installation. The aesthetic turned out better than I could've imagined. I had my bedroom floor done, and was more than pleased with the results, and Andrew and Tim were not only accommodating, but all too kind in the process."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Acid can seriously damage granite countertops and lead to etching and erosion. This is why cleaning with vinegar isn’t recommended. Other acidic items that you should keep away from your granite countertops include:

  • Citrus

  • Acetone nail polish remover

  • Tomatoes

  • Ammonia

In addition, always steer clear of using bleach on or around your granite as it will degrade the countertop’s sealant quickly.

Rock salt and ice melts contain sodium chloride, aka salt, and are corrosive to metal and concrete. If used frequently over time, it can cause corrosion, discoloration, chipping, and cracking to patios, walkways, and driveways. You can try a rock salt alternative or hire a professional snow removal company instead.

Marble countertops can last from 20 to 100 years, making them an excellent choice for anyone looking for durability. The life span depends on several factors, including how well you take care of your marble countertops. Marble is a porous material, so it can require more upkeep than other countertop options.

Yes, you can generally put hot pans directly on a granite countertop without worrying about cracking, as it is a durable, heat-resistant stone that can withstand high temperatures. However, it is still highly recommended to use a trivet or hot pad as a precaution. Prolonged or repeated exposure to high heat can potentially cause discoloration or damage the countertop's sealant, making it more susceptible to staining. Additionally, the heat from a pan can transfer to the granite, creating a burn hazard for anyone who touches the surface shortly after.

Silestone® is a brand of quartz countertops; one isn’t necessarily better, but they have their differences. Silestone® costs slightly more than the average quartz countertop because you’re paying for the brand name and unique features. For example, Silestone® is often more sustainable than regular quartz because you can purchase varieties made with recycled materials. It also has antibacterial properties and design options some homeowners prefer. Plus, you can use it across your whole kitchen rather than solely for countertops.
