"I erroneously believed that the workman blew our outlet, but they did not. (User error!) Sorry about that. They did such a fantastic job that both the electrician and the electricians assistant who came to add the outlet separately asked who did it! They would never seen such a great encapsulation. While freezing pipes are less of a concern in warmer climates, pipe insulation can still be beneficial because it helps prevent condensation on cold water pipes, reducing the risk of moisture-related issues like mold growth. It also helps maintain water temperature, reducing the energy needed to heat and cool the water, which can ultimately lower your utility bills.

The first step to clearing the air in a line is to locate the cause. This is usually a blockage in either the drain or the venting system. Once you clear the issue, flush the system by actually flushing the toilets repeatedly. This should allow the trapped air to escape, thus clearing the lines. Don’t be surprised if there is increased bubbling as the air makes its way through the system.

You can tell if your toilet fill valve is full by removing the lid and taking a look. When you flush the toilet, the float is at the bottom of the tank, the water empties, and the fill valve opens. The float rises to the top as the tank fills again with water. When the float rises to the right level, the fill valve closes; if the valve is too high, your toilet may only partially flush, requiring you to adjust the float.

In the warmer months, it’s fine to leave your garden hose attached to your spigot. However, before the first frost of the year, make sure to disconnect your hose from your outdoor faucet and drain any leftover water inside. Otherwise, water could freeze in the hose and potentially burst inside your faucet or pipes.
