"This was a great experience. Mr. Green is prompt, courteous, neat, expert at his job, and efficient. He educated us about the details of a good painting job all along the way. He was friendly and articulate in explaining what he needed to do the work and what we could expect. We will enjoy the newly-painted rooms for years to come."

Small jobs welcome

"Billy and Betty T Fremont, N. C. We had JLP Custom Paint to come in and paint the inside of our house. They painted, removed popcorn from ceilings, completely remodeled our bathrooms,. They were great with helping us pick out colors. Later they came back and painted the outside of our house . Again they were very helpful with colors. They did a great job inside and outside. We enjoyed getting to know them and were very pleased with their work."

"Mike and Crystal were very professional from the first phone contact through the completion of the work. They showed up on time, their work was neat and they worked very efficiently. My windows were in pretty bad shape. They really took their time and prepped them very well which showed in the finished product. When asked to redo or touch up anything it was done without question. In the end we received a very good paint job on a timely basis and at a competitive price. I have already recommended Mike's Painting to others in my neighborhood and would use him again for future painting needs.

"Jason came out within a day of requesting a quote. Was very responsive to our needs in looking for a no VOC paint and obtaining a good price. He sent out a crew and was able to work around our needs with 2 kids running around the house. They got everything done in the time agreed upon. We're still waiting for them to come back to do touchups but that is a combo of their and our scheduling issues. Would definitely hire again and have already told the neighbors."

"Churchill Painting transformed my new house into a home.I knew the last a owner had made a mess with his painting but in my mind I could see the potential in spite of those problems. Churchill Painters tackled each challenge no matter what it took. In some cases it took extra paint. There were unusual problems like strange chemicals on the doors and super glue used with the wallpaper. They tackled and solved each problem they came across. And did it beautifully.Because of these challenges a. Few touch ups were needed. One of the partners and a crew showed up and took care of my concerns immediately. This did not surprise me. The other partner had spent time walking me thru at the beginning. He helped me with colors and paint types. He also explained how they could improve my kitchen cabinets and sunroom for a very reasonable cost. They not only did that but also added special touches throughout. I don't believe I could have found better painters!
Karen Bonnewell, a very satisfied customer"

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

Hiring a professional wallpaper hanger is usually a worthwhile idea because, while the application of wallpaper itself is easy, getting the finished product to look good is complicated and takes a lot of practice and patience. A professional wallpaper hanger will not only be able to hang your wallpaper seamlessly, but they will also get an even application of wallpaper paste to avoid bubbling and imperfections immediately and over time. Plus, they can provide their professional opinion on whether to remove or wallpaper over an existing layer of wallpaper.

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it is generally better to remove it first to guarantee a smooth, professional finish. Painting over wallpaper can save time, but it may lead to issues if not done correctly.

You can paint over existing wallpaper if it is in excellent condition: smooth, non-textured, clean, and firmly adhered to the wall. Ensure there are no bumps, tears, or peeling areas, and that all corners and seams are securely glued down. You might also consider painting over wallpaper if removing it would damage the underlying wall. Additionally, some wallpapers are specifically designed to be paintable, which can add texture to a room.

However, there are risks. If the wallpaper is textured, damaged, or peeling, these imperfections will show through the new paint. The moisture from the paint can also loosen the wallpaper's adhesive, causing it to bubble and potentially damage the wall. To mitigate these issues, clean the surface thoroughly and use an oil-based primer to help the paint adhere and prevent the old adhesive from bleeding through.

Small amounts of wallpaper can be thrown away in your household trash. If you’re removing a whole home’s worth of wallpaper, you may need to contact a waste removal company, rent a dumpster, or schedule a special pick-up with your municipality’s waste removal service. Wallpaper isn’t recyclable, so no matter which method you choose to dispose of it, make sure it doesn’t get mixed in with the recycling.

You’ll need to wash the walls to remove wallpaper adhesive residue after removal as part of the prep process for painting or rehanging wallpaper. Old adhesive can cause texture issues and prevent paint or wallpaper from adhering properly to the wall’s surface.

Professionals handle heavy lifting, proper disposal, and recycling, reducing environmental impact.
