Small jobs welcome

"Travis Cartwright has provided many services to us over the last 12 years. These are some of them: clean up work, pulled a sunk boat from our pond, excavated our home site and installed our septic tank & drain field. Travis is an excellent equipment operator and we highly recommend him-"

"My husband and I had been looking for someone to complete a few maintenance repairs around our home (replacing shutters, fix trim along the rooftop, fix siding on the house, replace framework and seals around the garage door and install a ceiling fan). Jeremy Williams did a wonderful job completing all the repairs we needed done. He was very professional and friendly from the initial meeting to the completion of the home repairs. Thank you for all you did for us and we will definitely contact you for our future home repairs."

"First and foremost, these guys were amazing to work with. From the first conversation over the phone, to the end of our property enhancement, Paul and BJ went above and beyond to make sure collectively everyone was on the same page. These guys were prompt to answer questions and were very informative with their explanations. Our project turned out exactly the way we wanted and then exceeded our expectations! Thank you again Clearly Leveled Up LLC! We look forward to working with you in the future!"

"After being ignored by two other contractors for a relatively small residential drainage project Brennan was a happy change. He reviewed the work when he said he would. His proposed solution was far more practical than the other contractors and less costly. He started the work when promised and did an excellent job. The work was completed per our agreed scope and everything was left in a tidy state. On top of this the work was completed more quickly than expected and Brennan asked for substantially less payment than the agreed on quote. I was so pleased with the entire experience that I paid more than he asked for. I strongly recommend Mokma Grading for the intelligence, quality and honesty shown. They'll be the only contractor I call for similar work in future."

"I could not be happier with the work that they did. The communication was top notch. Mr. Cree was extremely professional and let me know what he was doing every step of the way. Him and his team will definitely be our first choice for future projects. A+++++"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

The average cost of excavation is approximately $3,200, with typical projects ranging from $500 to $15,000. Depending on the contractor, you may be charged between $50 and $200 per cubic yard or an hourly rate of $40 to $180 for an excavation specialist. The total cost is influenced by several factors, including the project size, the amount of soil to be removed, and the soil's condition. Hard soil, tree roots, or excessive rocks and clay can increase the price, potentially adding $200 to $1,200 to the final bill. Other factors that can drive up costs include the presence of nearby structures that complicate the work or tight spaces that require manual excavation instead of heavy machinery.

Professional installers often include a deep layer of crushed gravel under permeable pavers to allow more runoff to soak through into the soil below. Many installations will include multiple layers of gravel, with coarser aggregate at the base and finer aggregate that sits on top of that bottom layer. Above the gravel, you’ll often find coarse sand that helps reduce paver shifting over time. Some permeable paver designs include a water collection system set into the gravel layer to route runoff to a safe area for disposal.

It’s possible to transplant trees as tall as 50 feet when an experienced tree planting service uses the right equipment. However, a tree with a trunk larger than two or three inches in diameter needs to be handled by a professional in order to yield successful transplanting results. Consulting a tree planting professional is the best way to tell if your large tree can be safely transplanted.

If you’re planning to dig on your property, you’ll need to check for underground utility lines. Call the national call-before-you-dig 811 number. Once connected to an operator, you can schedule a site visit to mark underground lines. This way, you won’t accidentally dig into pipes and can cause major (read: costly) issues.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.
