"They called ahead of arriving as I had requested, arrived on time. They were very courteous and professional. They explained what they will be doing, did it promptly and well. They pointed out and repaired guttergarrds that were not properly installed and reinstalled them at no additional cost. They clean up all debris out the drive and patio. The job was very well done.

"The plumber replaced the valves under the kitchen sink with better metal valves, and that solved the problem! The water pressure is now great and fixed the water temperature problem. I'm completely happy with that repair. While deciding what to do about the kitchen sink valves, he offered me a package deal to replace the valves under all the sinks in my house. That sounded like a good idea, since the builder had used the same cheapo valves for all the sinks; so I authorized the replacement of all the sink valves in the house. All went well, except for one of the sinks in the master bathroom. That one worked great before the change, but wouldn't work after the valve replacement. The plumber decided it was the cartridge in the faucet, and even ordered a new one free of charge (under warranty) from the manufacturer. When the new cartridge arrived, I installed it in the faucet, but nothing changed...the water still would not flow. The plumber came back and was able to get the flow going again, after clearing whatever was stuck in the pipe. The sink works again; but I had to pay $125 for him to come back out to fix something that was fine until he installed the new valves. Lesson learned: only fix what's broken! I also asked during the first trip if he could re-caulk the master bathroom shower. This would include removing the old caulk, cleaning out the mold and mildew under the shower door frame, and then re-caulking. He said he could, and I thought the price was fair. Unfortunately the cleaning under the shower door frame was not done well, and dark spots started to appear through the new caulking within a week or two. I ended up removing all the caulking again, thoroughly cleaning, and re-applying new caulking again myself. Of course I was dissatisfied with this part of the job. When I called to ask for my money back, they promptly agreed to refund my money for the caulking work; so I give them credit for that."

"Our septic tank had not been serviced in over 9 years and we began noticing odors and gurgling in our sinks last week. First choice had top reviews on Angieslist so we made call. Their team was prompt and concise in communications and more surprising - came out same day. My Wife facilitated the whole process and supported their whole team onsite - to say she is picky is an understatement - all A is the result. No mess... Even put the soil they had to dig up back more level than they found it. We're planning to look at these guys for a larger septic tank job for our new home next month after this experience.. Very good and very fast."

"After waiting two months for another contractor to complete the renovation of my master bath, I finally gave up and terminated the contract. Through angies list I found Imperial Stone. Tony came out right away and did the preliminary measurements and within two weeks of selecting the stone I had beautiful new countertops and sinks--all at a price I found exceptionally reasonable. Needless to say, Tony and Sam are my heroes. I wouldn't consider going to anyone else now."

"This plumbing company was the only one I could find that would give free quotes! Free quotes don't seem to exist like Angie's List/Home Advisor say they do. Unfortunately for me, they have a policy to do a free check of all the plumbing so they can recommend everything there possibly is to fix. I see how it could be good, but I just wanted a toilet fixed. This added a good bit of time to the visit and caused him to write up unnecessary quotes to try to sell me other things. Yersson was my plumber. He was very understanding and explained the company policy and quotes. In the end, I was able to negotiate the price to fix the toilet and his work appears top notch. He was also very personable and kept his mask on unlike some other servicemen I've dealt with recently... I was also promised a 1 year guarantee on the work. I would use them again."

"This company is very responsive and efficient. Tim came by within a couple days of first call to design the project and give the quote and Russ came back a month later and installed the units (most of the custom work was done at his shop). Tim provided very good ideas and suggestions at our initial meeting. Quote came with detailed sketches which made it easy to visualize final project. We are very pleased with the project and would definitely recommend Russ and Tim's Home Repairs."

"James was responsive, courteous, and professional AND helped us diagnose - free of charge on a follow-up call - an ammonia smell related to our sealed crawlspace completely unrelated to the plumbing.  He even referred us to a new termite / pest / company (whom we have chosen to take over service following our purchase of the home).  He also checked our entire crawlspace for leaks or other issues that might have been missed by our inspector and provided a wealth of information on AAV valves, pressure regulators and anything else I could throw at him.  Perhaps the best part - James (a very experienced plumber) is the owner AND... does the work HIMSELF with a colleague in tow.  Touch 2 O faucets (this is our third in 3 homes in 3 years) can be a bit finicky and this install was completed without a hitch.  If you want the same experienced professional that QUOTES the job to also be the one to COMPLETE it, pick Gentile Plumbing!

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

The best option is to alter the plumbing. Moving and centering the drain pipe behind the sink usually does the trick and creates the sleek, minimalist look that pedestal sinks offer. If you don’t want to do any plumbing work, there are a few decorating hacks:

  • Painting the pipes

  • Placing shelves, plants, or baskets in front of the pipes

  • Adding a sink skirt

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common plumbing practice that can simplify installation and save space. When sharing a vent, it's important that the toilet is located downstream from all other fixtures. You will also need to ensure the vent pipe is large enough to handle the demands of all connected fixtures without compromising its effectiveness. Because requirements can vary, you should always check your local building and plumbing codes. Consulting a qualified plumber is recommended to ensure the vent is properly sized, installed, and adheres to all local regulations.

Yes, you can fit a vanity unit to an existing sink, especially if you plan to custom-build the vanity. With a prefabricated vanity, you’ll likely need to make a few adjustments. It depends on the type of sink, the size of the sink, and the existing plumbing. If you plan to retrofit a sink into a prefabricated vanity, make sure you take precise measurements and that your sink is compatible with the vanity you select. Prefabricated units have a precut sink hole, so you’ll need the size to match your sink.

Read reviews and grades on Roto-Rooter specialists in your area online. Their website also lists all the professionals in your area by state. Sites like Angi can help connect you with local plumbing professionals, which may include Roto-Rooter.
