Bill B. Business Owner A native of Miami Fl. Bill Barber moved to Atlanta with his new bride Melinda and began to build Homes and additions in 1977. In 2002 Mark Meadow (Now US Congressman) was a local realtor in Highlands's area and Invited Bill to build in one of his projects in Cashiers NC. Because of the craftsmanship and creativity his first home built here in the Smoky Mountains, seven more contracts to build came in that year. Bill has been building now for over 37+ years and enjoys the beautiful Smokey Mountains of North Carolina.
"I have done 2 remodeling projects with Bill Barbor Homes. At no point during bathroom/tub x2 remodels, as well as multiple exterior deck and siding repars did I feel any worry. I also experienced very reasonable pricing. I would definitely use them again. I would also choose a custom home built by them after experiencing the knowledge base they have in construction. We are a father and son team and use the best people and materials that we can find. We do not hire subcontractors because we do the work ourselves on-site to make sure they job is done right! we do contract price only. We will give a 10% discount for Angie's List members. we do not offer paving service or tank removal,pavers. We do the highest quality of work and services and do not take short cuts or bandaid fixes. "David is hands down the best contractor I've ever worked with! He has a background in engineering and it shows. My home's driveway was severely damaged by Helene (we live up in the mountains near Swannanoa, NC) and we had a mass of earth precariously perched above our home. I was very nervous it could continue sliding into our home. In addition to this, where our road had collapsed, it had become dangerous to pass with a car. David and his team were able to assess the damage and develop a thorough, well-explained plan for repairing this road damage. We were able to build a retaining wall and reinforce the bank adjacent to our road. He even re-graveled our driveway at no additional cost because his trucks were unable to access our property due to sandy roads. The work was professional and of very high quality. While he was working on the road repairs I also had him check our foundation to see if things had shifted during the hurricane. David was able to identify some bowing/cracking and suggested a repair with steel bracing. We agreed to those repairs and while working on this he noticed our decking bolts had come undone. David then went around both our main home and an ADU to check the bolts/nuts were tightened down on all exterior structures. This was going beyond and above by a wide margin and showed how much David cares about doing the right thing and helping people above all else. I cannot recommend David enough both professionally and personally. He's a wonderful human who does excellent work and I will absolutely work with him again in the future! -Andrew"
