"Owner Nick came out on short notice on a Friday afternoon when Roto-Rooter canceled at the last minute. Professional, organized, knowledgeable. Cleared my completely clogged kitchen drain (a mix of PVC and galvanized pipes in an older home) that I'd tolerated for 4 days - with state-of-the-art equipment. Explained options before he came and while he was working. Cleaned up thoroughly. Highly recommend. Support local independent businesses!"

"Called ODP to come and give me an estimate for a repair of a main water line leak. Zach came out and priced out a couple of options from repair to replacement of the old line along with the risks of choosing one option over another. I went with the repair option. Zach and Eric came out quickly and had the repair completed in a few hours. I was very impressed with the quality of the repair, and they left the yard clean and with my wife's approval (not easy to get). The repair utilized really good quality materials so I have no doubt this leak is fixed! I will have no reservations in using these guys again."

"I was visiting my mom when Chris arrived. I live in Florida. His professionalism, courtesy, and workmanship was excellent. The water leakage problem under the kitchen sink was resolved at no additional cost. In addition, he provided some insight into resolving a clogged bathroom sink and offered to be the primary repairman for any plumbing issues for my mother. I was impressed with how he explained to my mom the problem and how he fixed it. I feel very confident that Chris corrected the drainage problem as this was the third visit to my mom's house. Thank so much Chris for your help. Elouise's son, Charles"

"The technician arrived early and did an awesome job installing both brackets and fans. He explained the whole process and kept the work area very clean. He even disposed of the boxes and materials from both fans and the boxes for the braces I had purchased! Both fans are running smoothly and look great. This is our third time using Streamline Plumbing and Electric, and the third different technician who has come to our home. All three of them are extremely courteous and hard working. They also are great at answering additional questions that you might have and recommending courses of action to take. When you call the office, they are always very courteous and work with you to find an available time slot. They call before to remind you, and they call when the technician is on his way. They really are a superior company, and we are so excited to know that we have a company that we can trust to do good work on our home."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

There are a few reasons your snake won’t go down the floor drain. One common reason is a large obstruction in the drain that is causing a blockage. You can remove any debris you see in the drain before trying to snake it. In addition, the snake might not be long enough to reach the clog, or it might be the wrong diameter.

A small amount of diluted bleach is okay to pour down a garbage disposal. As part of your weekly garbage disposal maintenance, use 1 teaspoon of bleach with your concoction of ice cubes and lemon peels. Turn on the disposal and run the water until the blades chop up the ice cubes.

Any more bleach in your disposal can harden oils and greases in your drain, which can cause problems. Always wear gloves when working with bleach, and know that you really don’t need bleach at all—vinegar, baking soda, salt, and ice should do the trick.

A plumber can get to the bottom of your smelly drain and clean it with specialized jets, hoses, and drain-safe cleaning solutions. It is also smart to call in a plumber if you suspect your drain smell is coming from a stubborn clog or even a leaky pipe.

Baking soda and vinegar is a great solution for cleaning your sink drain; in fact, it’s our preferred method. Here’s how to unclog your drain with baking soda and vinegar: Pour in a half cup of baking soda, then 1 cup of white vinegar, and let the two bubble for 15 minutes. Then rinse out with boiling water. This method is much safer than using a chemical drain cleaner gel.

There are several steps you can take to prevent your AC drain from clogging. This includes cleaning the drain line at least every three months, changing the filter every one to three months, and getting your AC serviced annually. Also, if any problems arise with your AC, hire an HVAC technician to deal with them ASAP.
