I had called several companies/persons but none either responded back or showed up for their appointment. So, I was a pleasantly surprised when Kevan responded to my voicemail and showed up for the scheduled appointment. Water was leaking into my back room from underneath the deck and creating issues. Kevan came out and assessed the problem and devised a solution. Kevan & Drew showed up as assured. The process was explained every step of the way, so I had a very clear understanding of what was being done and why. Both Kevan & Drew were professional, and their work is quality work. "The installation went very well. Kevin and I reviewed the work that I wanted done from the estimate that he had given me previously. After review we made some modifications to the plan and then the real work got started. The Vortex team went about their work in a very professional manner. They removed the old and very clogged up existing drain line, being careful to avoid an electrical wiring conduit and my water supply line. A 12" pvc drainage basin was installed along with enough 4" pvc pipe to reach into the natural area beyond the nearest edge of my yard. Some of the dug out rock was used to provide protection to the exposed end of the pipe. Two of the gutter downspouts from my porch were tied into the system to help move that water away from the house as well. After the trench was filled in, grass seed and hay were spread in the trenched areas. Finally, the drain was tested with a water hose to verify that water would indeed drain out. To install the new basin and drain pipe, they had to disturb a small flower bed. I did not expect them to fix this, but they did, including reshaping the border bricks to fit around the new larger drain basin. As far as I'm concerned, this was going above and beyond in the customer service department. I very much appreciated this added touch!"

"Our yard improvement was a total disappointment. The VP of the company came out to review the job in person. We were looking to add sprinklers to our backyard and aerate and seed our lawn. The review of the job was well presented with a good plan. The job was scheduled to be complete in 1 1/2 days. All seemed good. When the installation crew arrived, they had a completely different plan. They pretty much did whatever was easiest for them. In doing so, they damaged so many areas of the existing system that it was no longer operational. They damaged our septic system and tried to cover it up. The septic area was not marked but the original plan stayed away from that system. All work was done in sloppy manner. Clean up almost non-existent. The seeding was terrible. I have great big bare spots. When they completed the job 30 days later. I asked them to test the system and of course it didn’t even work. They had to rerun wire they had cut. This job was a disaster. Management didn’t care."

"We had Brian and his team install an irrigation system a couple years ago at our home. Process was painless and price was fair. They got it done in the anticipated duration and were very knowledgeable. I typically get them to come out early in the season to check everything out and make sure everything is operating correctly. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend."

"They did a good job, but it was much more expensive than I expected. We had leaves blocking a 25-foot downspout extension that was buried under the ground leading to a pop-up drain. I had asked in advance what it would cost for hydro-jetting, and wasn't given a price, but was just told that it would be $105 minimum if only a diagnostic visit was needed. The two guys who came did a good job, and cleared the line. They were here 35 minutes. When they finished, they told me it was $550 plus tax. They said it was the standard residential charge for hydro-jetting. I called the office and they agreed to lower it to $350 plus tax. I'm disappointed that there wasn't more up-front disclosure of the cost."
