"They did excellent job and were professional from beginning to end! I had another solar panel company come before SunPro. They told me I was not allowed to get solar panels because my bill did not reach a certain amount. Which Sunpro did not tell me. They put the panels were I wanted them to go, and were extremely professional. I have the service representative, Cara, in my phone and any time that I need something or have a question she is there. Very knowledgeable and they answer at all hours."

"I was very impressed with the installer who was sent. He mounted the dish without drilling through my new roof, which might have voided my roof warranty, Also, he mounted the dish in a location where it is easy for me to brush the snow off it in winter. I appreciate his knowledge and thoughtfulness. Also, they didn't charge me to re-install the dish."

"I received a call right away from Roeder's Plumbing and a service call was arranged that fit my schedule. The plumber was professional and friendly. He was very knowledgeable and experienced. He diagnosed the problem right away and made all three repairs in a timely manner. He had the parts on his truck to make all the repairs which was wonderful because we didn't have to wait for parts and reschedule another visit. It's been a month since our service call and everything is working well. I will definitely call them again. Great service."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

The actual time it takes to construct the solar farm is relatively short, taking between 2 and 4 months on average. That timeline is dependent on site conditions, crew size, and the overall size of the solar farm.

However, the time it takes to get the ball rolling is significantly longer, ranging from 3 to 5 years. With a project of this scale, you’ll need to obtain all of the proper permits and approvals to start breaking ground, and depending on your location, that could be an extended process.

There are a few qualifying questions you should ask a local solar panel company before hiring them:

  • Will you handle permits for the installation?

  • Does your total price include the equipment and labor?

  • How long do you expect the installation process to take?

  • What kind of workmanship warranty do you include with your installations?

  • Who should I contact if I have a problem with my system after installation?

  • Do you install the panels or outsource the work to third parties?

  • Will you file for solar incentives for me?

The best way to know if your roof can support solar panels is to hire a structural engineer. They’ll look at your roof and approve the design of your solar panel system or suggest changes. The best roofing for solar panels is made from strong materials like asphalt shingles and metal, but tile and gravel will work. Softer materials like thatch or temporary structures are not a good fit.

Solar panels have a life span between 10 and 40 years, depending on the type of panel. For example, monocrystalline panels can last up to 40 years, while thin-film ones only last between 10 and 20 years. The longevity also comes down to keeping up with solar panel repairs and their related costs .

The morning sun can be better for solar panels because it’s often brighter and clearer than the afternoon sun. The brighter the sun, the more energy solar panels produce. The strongest rays occur during midday, which tends to be prime time for solar energy generation. Most homes get a mix of morning and afternoon sunlight.
