Small jobs welcome

"I thought he did a good job explaining what he did do but very disappointed they didn't explain that you had to pay a lot extra money to actually find out what kind of mold if any you had. The $199.00 fee they only looked for mold & tested the air quality. If they found any mold it cost a lot more to find out what type. He did say we had mold in our crawl space but not what kind, that cost more money. Overall good for what he did do."

"I received Mr. Walker's number from my brother. He performed our home inspection when we were trying to buy a new home a few years ago. We were very pleased with his services, and we have had no issues with our home since then EXCEPT for the few things he told us to monitor. I would recommend his services to anyone looking for a good quality inspection with a fair, competitive price."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

After remediation in Jackson, arrange for a post-remediation mold inspection to confirm air quality improvements. Clean or replace HVAC filters, address any lingering moisture sources, and use dehumidifiers to keep humidity below 50%. Inspect remediated areas monthly for the next six months. Annual professional inspections, especially before storm season, and reviewing your insurance policy help maintain long-term mold prevention.

Helpful?

In Jackson, schedule mold testing if you notice persistent musty odors, visible mold patches, or unexplained allergy symptoms indoors. Water stains on ceilings or walls, especially after storms or plumbing issues, are strong indicators. If your home has been vacant or recently renovated, a professional mold inspection is wise. Older homes or those near flood-prone areas should be checked more frequently for hidden mold.

Helpful?

Jackson’s humid subtropical climate, with long, damp summers and sudden storms, accelerates mold growth in attics and basements. Mold inspection and remediation are most effective during late fall or early winter, when humidity is lower. After major storms or flooding, act quickly to dry out affected areas and schedule mold testing, as delayed response can lead to hidden mold colonies in walls and flooring.

Helpful?

In Jackson, homeowners should pay close attention to the city’s frequent heavy rains, older housing stock, and the tendency for crawl spaces to trap moisture due to Yazoo clay. Mold inspection is especially important after plumbing repairs or power outages. Review your insurance for mold and flood coverage, and consider installing vapor barriers or sump pumps to enhance mold prevention in vulnerable areas.

Helpful?

In Jackson, begin spring by inspecting crawl spaces and attics after heavy rains. During summer, use a hygrometer to monitor humidity and check for condensation around windows weekly. Fall is ideal for a professional mold inspection before hurricane season peaks. In winter, inspect heating ducts and look for moisture near foundations. Regular gutter cleaning and attic ventilation upgrades help with year-round mold prevention.
